The file File:Jerry Brudos Arrested Salem Oregon June 1969.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article already has a better non-free image.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 02:53, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:Jerry Brudos Arrested Salem Oregon June 1969.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Jerry Brudos Arrested Salem Oregon June 1969.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Thriftycat TalkContribs 18:22, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Please add Chin Swee[10] to the List of solved missing person cases. Davidgoodheart (talk) 22:56, 20 December 2023 (UTC) :Done. Surely you can do these for yourself now as opposed to waiting for me to do them? Haven't counted, but surely I have made 600-850 edits for you over the last several years? Even though I'm happy to help from time to time I can't make an edit and 25 minutes or two hours later receive another request. Basically saying I have my own cases to work on and can't continually seek predominance for your edits over mine.--Kieronoldham (talk) 03:21, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

Talk:Lucy Letby#RFC on Lead sentence

Hi, a while ago you reverted me changing of the Fred West opening line [1] so it still said he is a serial killer. I actually totally agree with you but I don't understand the inconsistency here, because over at Lucy Letby some editors are trying to change it so it doesn't (!?) call her a serial killer yet even though she WAS convicted? You might want to take a look at the Rfc that's been started to comment on whether the term "serial killer" should be excluded: Talk:Lucy Letby#RFC on Lead sentence. 213.31.104.198 (talk) 21:53, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

@Martinevans123: and @Davidgoodheart: having looked at your contributions from your comments on this page, this may also be something you'd want to look at? 213.31.104.198 (talk) 21:58, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
The Letby article isn't on my watchlist. I'll have a look. What I will say is that option B describes the context of her crimes better as it is through/via her profession that she became a serial killer.--Kieronoldham (talk) 22:22, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
Errrmm, not on my watch list, have never commented at the talk page, and have never made an edit there...? But tend to agree with Kieron. Cheers. Martinevans123 (talk) 22:58, 22 December 2023 (UTC)

Please add Păstorel Teodoreanu[18] to the List of solved missing person cases as he was thought to have died in a building that was destroyed in 1941, but later resurfaced, and in 1944 he had disappeared for a time after he had taken refuge in Budești during bombings.[19] I am not sure which disappearance he should be listed under though. Please add Wayne Joseph Dukette[26] to the List of solved missing person cases and add him to either the List of unsolved deaths or the List of unsolved murders as I am not sure which list he would belong on. Davidgoodheart (talk) 16:46, 20 January 2024 (UTC)
I know I broached the subject a while back, but can I ask again why you only bother to "converse" with me with these incomplete messages (in your edit summaries, that is) and very seldom anyone else? I'm not saying it's intentional, but one could detect a degree of condescending sarcasm, and/or serfdom in some of your edits. Happy to help, as I say. As for the edit, personally, it was an unsolved murder - hence why he was found nude at the bottom of a ravine. Putrefaction erased any definitive cause of death and that is why the toxicology report was used. Hyoid bone wasn't broken.--Kieronoldham (talk) 03:20, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

Style/Sourcing

Hey Mate!! Appreciate your comments in terms of writing style and sourcing. I was wondering if you had any advice on the best ways to improve? and do you generally try to stay away from sources if they are in a book? (e.g the references to the other news articles about the guy in Holland) Just trying to also wrap my head around promoting info. Thank you for your help, it's much appreciated!! GossieGoodTimes (talk) 23:47, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

I tried looking for a free sample of the book online (admittedly only for a few minutes) but couldn't find one, GossieGoodTimes. Despite the reference in the newspaper, the edit didn't clarify who "Harry Wyllie" was and just mentioned him without due context. (Some people who vandalize will just add random names.)--Kieronoldham (talk) 00:40, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
Thank you!! I'm still trying to wrap my head around doing it all correctly. I really appreciate your advice.
Hope you're well! GossieGoodTimes (talk) 00:42, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
No worries, GossieGoodTimes. Just added the name on there. If you ever wish to find a newspaper article in the archives, sometimes searching "newspapers.com" or "newspapers.com/clip" may find something verifiable. For example, searching for: Bible John "newspapers.com" in Google or suchlike may find something intriguing.--Kieronoldham (talk) 00:45, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
Okay sweet, I will try hunt it down on the weekend!
Thank you for the resource, GossieGoodTimes (talk) 07:04, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

A ridiculous cat

Please excuse my erroneous edit, likely a mistaken rollback or revert caused by my fat fingers, hypnagogia, or one of my ridiculous cats. I have likely self reverted or noticed the mistake after you corrected it. Again, my apologies. Thank you. Watchlist refreshed right as I was trying to click the diff of another article. Sorry! EvergreenFir (talk) 01:22, 15 January 2024 (UTC)

You don't have to apologize in the slightest, EvergreenFir. I understand this is a contentious topic with no shortage of interested/opinionated parties and consensus is extremely difficult to reach. What I will say is that, generally, in heated television discussions I have watched, one observation from one journo stands out: The people who have the most to scathingly say about this conflict (at least in the West) have never served in any military capacity.--Kieronoldham (talk) 01:29, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
