"Sticking plaster" is incomprehensible to the vast majority of Americans. We think of plaster of Paris, which is inconvenient to use when restraining a captive or giving first aid. A nation of 300,000,000+ "laymen" may find this article about a significant one-man crime wave in the UK interesting on the basis of our news coverage pretty well having ignored it. We will get more out of it if the Commonwealth term is linked. Trust me, I'm an Anglophile, and still had to look it up, and see the picture.
