December 2020 edit

  Hello, I'm Donner60. I noticed that in this edit to Socialist Youth of Spain, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 22:47, 14 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Republicanism in Spain, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Donner60 (talk) 22:47, 14 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Flag of Mauritania, you may be blocked from editing. Ashleyyoursmile! 04:45, 27 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Welcome! edit

Hello, Bromsjie9, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to The Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. January 2021 edit

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Libya; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Generalrelative (talk) 19:25, 14 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

February 2021 edit

DID YOU READ WHAT IS BELLOW?--Moxy-  15:03, 23 February 2021 (UTC)   Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.Reply

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Paramount Channel (Poland) moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Paramount Channel (Poland), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 21:04, 27 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Svitlodarsk edit

I have reverted your edits adding the "de facto" country/subdivisions, there is no consensus to do this for settlements in eastern Ukraine. Thanks. Mellk (talk) 03:21, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

While yes not many countries recognize it under Russian control, as of 2024 Feb 24 it is de facto under Russia under the DPR and LPR Republic's and is considered Russian by the government of Russia. At the moment, unless Ukraine retakes it which is unlikely, it is currently under de facto Russian Federation control. Khrom3ium (talk) 15:48, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
You are correct that it is under de facto Russian control; however, there was a request for comment about this a while ago and there was no consensus to include occupation in the infobox (looks like there is consensus against this). I guess the rationale was that since the invasion is ongoing it does not make sense for the infobox to include a status that could easily change. It would be probably best to start a new RfC and achieve some kind of consensus to include this for certain settlements before making such changes. Mellk (talk) 18:42, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
