A tag has been placed on VSCO (VSCO Cam), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Article structure edit

Hi. I noticed that you have created an article, VSCO (VSCO Cam), that has been deleted three times as "unambiguous advertising". Please stop creating this page, and please pay attention to the messages you receive from other Wikipedians.

If you're going to create an article, you need to make sure that you do so in your sandbox, don't create articles directly in the main article space. And before you start, you need to read the Editing Wikipedia brochure carefully. (I have linked it above.) Make sure your works is supported by reliable sources, and that you include inline sources in your article draft.

The biggest problem with your article is actually the tone. It was deleted because your tone was "promotional". You are supposed to be writing an encyclopedia article, one that is based around simple factual statements about the topic. You need to strive for a neutral tone.

Looking at what you wrote, it's difficult to tell whether you're talking about a company, or an app. You start off by talking about a company, but switch seamlessly to describing the app. You need to be clear which one you're talking about, and be clear when you switch from one to the other. While neither is a perfect example, you should look at the Instagram and Pinterest articles for some sense of how you might want to structure an article. The Instagram article is still a bit on the promotional side, and the Pinterest one has problems of its own. But they're a step in the right direction.

Some specifics. You wrote:

VSCO is an art and technology company empowering and inspiring people everywhere to create, discover, and connect. IOS and Android users can express their voice through creativity. Artists share their creations using culture and photography through a journal shared among a community. This app allows users to post their art work with out playing the "popularity game" and not worrying about "likes" or "shares".

For starters, when you write something in Wikipedia's voice, it needs to be objectively verifiable. Would most social scientists who study disempowered communities consider this empowerment? If not, then you can't say that is it. And something that's "inspiring people everywhere" would be common knowledge to people everywhere. I'd be very skeptical of that claim, given that (a) I've never heard of this company, and (b) most people in the world don't have smartphones. Saying that people can "express their voice through creativity" is far too flowery language for an encyclopedia. Saying that artists "share their creations using culture" doesn't actually make sense.

VSCO is a family sharing application because of the mild violence and and drug references.

Taken at face value, this means that VSCO is used to share families, and that it utilizes "mild violence and and drug references" to do so. Which is a pretty disturbing idea, to be honest.

Please stop edit

Please stop trying to move your draft into mainspace. Please read the feedback I gave you (above) first, and implement it in your sandbox. If you can get it up to standard, then we can figure out what to do next. What you've done so far isn't helpful - please stop. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:04, 10 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of VSCO Camera edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on VSCO Camera requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. An editor thought the references were too weak to establish that the subject of your article is notable. Another editor disagreed and removed the speedy deletion tag, but providing additional references cannot hurt. Huon (talk) 21:31, 15 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of VSCO edit

The article VSCO has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no evidence of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
