Your GA nomination of Grigory Panchenko edit

The article Grigory Panchenko you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold  . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Grigory Panchenko and Talk:Grigory Panchenko/GA1 for issues which need to be addressed. Your GA nomination of Grigory Panchenko edit

The article Grigory Panchenko you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Grigory Panchenko for comments about the article, and Talk:Grigory Panchenko/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Chuprin 2009 edit

How do I get a copy of Chuprin 2009? Many thanks for any pointers!! Buckshot06 (talk) 08:43, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • There are several copies in the United States, so one could definitely be secured through interlibrary loan. But I haven't found this book on the runet. Kges1901 (talk) 00:48, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
    • Thanks. I am tangled with the end of VVS TurkVO -> 49th VA -> 56th SAC? or disbandment. Sources disagree. Any info or pointers gratefully appreciated. Buckshot06 (talk) 01:28, 31 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
      • So far I would tend to agree with the argument on ruwiki that the "49th Air Army" never existed (although the data in Feskov 2013 that it briefly existed between 1988 and 1989 could be correct), because it isn't mentioned in Vitaly Rybalka's complete dictionary of air army commanders. Also of note is that Feskov's 2nd book covering VVS PVO and RVSN in the postwar period was apparently published in 2020[1], and Russian State Library has a copy, but good luck finding a copy outside of Russia. The ISBN isn't even in worldcat. As for Chuprin, his book might be useful since it appears to contain CFE treaty data on the Russian armed forces in the 2000s[2], but judging from the index it doesn't shed any light on the late Soviet period. But it could be helpful in filling out the 2000s orbat of the VSRF since Lensky's Army of the Fatherland book that has the CFE treaty data from 1999 for the ground forces isn't available outside of the Library of Congress in the US.
