external link on sodium and salt edit

I have removed the links, because they are not appropriate on these pages, the wikipedia is not a directory, it is not a list of external links. Though some external links are useful, these were, on the pages salt (which is about the ionic compounds) and sodium (about the metal, the element), not that, I would even call them misleading. Both sodium and salts are not edible things; though for the latter the misconception may already exist (but most, if not all, are rather to very toxic!). We don't link to all car-brands and car-dealers on all pages about cars either. External links should be kept to an absolute minimum, in this case, I could allow the link on edible salt (but even there ..). My primary concern was not the advertisements on the linked page, but its inappropriateness. Hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 18:55, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
