Commiseration edit

RC patrolling is a sad battle indeed when the adminstrators don't watch WP:AIV, isn't it... Collabi 09:49, 28 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Redirects? edit

The thing is, having the redirect costs nothing, and might be useful--meanwhile, dragging the article through Vfd takes up space there, and many people feel Vfd is overloaded already. So it's simply far easier to redirect. You should let the vfd run its course now, and not redirect the page; this is just for the future (hopefully, you'll stick around). Anyway, best wishes. Yours, Meelar (talk) 17:20, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the reminder edit

I took your comment in the way it was intended, I think. I forgot to finish the comment. Unfortunately, I don't what to do either. Researcher99 hasn't accepted mediation yet. The issues haven't been chosen. I hope that other people besides me will be allowed to part of the mediation, on whichever side they choose. Nereocystis 15:39, 5 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, Researcher99 has insisted that almost everyone who disagrees with him is my sock puppet. I emailed one of my supposed sock puppets and verified that it wasn't me. Nereocystis 01:04, 15 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

SPEED edit

You are FAST! I was just dealing with the NPOV addition to Prayer in Christianity, when you took care of it! Well done! KHM03 18:45, 6 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

The sad thing is that the anonymous user's edits aren't bad, they just need incorporated in an NPOV fashion. He wrote in an "absolutist" fashion, when he could have gotten his point(s) across fairly. I have tried to incorporate his statements into the sections in an NPOV way. KHM03 18:54, 6 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for contributing to Girl! edit

  An Award
For your contributions to the CotW focusing on Girl in September, 2005, I, Mamawrites, award you, Kewp, this THANK YOU.

I realize that there were strong feelings on both sides with respect to the outcome of the AfD for this article, now located at Alternative theories regarding Hurricane Katrina. I would like to assure those who expressed concerns about the content, tone, and potential for degradation of this article that I intend for it to continue to exist only as long as is necessary to draw the contributions of fringe theorists away from the more substantial Hurricane Katrina articles. Once interest in this topic dies down, I'll quietly trim and merge this information into the appropriate general-topic articles. In the interim, I will carefully watch this page to prevent it from being abused, and I will continue to work towards making this article NPOV, properly sourced, and useful to those seeking an accurate record of the hysterics that so often follows catastrophe. Cheers. -- BD2412 talk 00:58, 14 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Apologies edit

Please, pardon me if my message wasn't appropiate. Also, I thank you for your "on side note" about calling you "he" and not "she" in my posts. I'll be aware of that from now on. --Neigel von Teighen 22:43, 15 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Request edit

I am asking past editors of the Karl Rove page to weigh in on a survey. If you can spare a couple of minutes, please visit this page: Talk:Karl Rove/September Survey, read the introduction, and answer the three questions that have been posed. Researcher99 edit

I really don't understand the complaint against me. Your comment, even if I had made it, seems like a complaint against Researcher99 rather than against me. Most of the other statements don't seem like abuse either. I finally put my request for arbitration up there. Nereocystis 08:21, 4 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Link in RfAr edit

I must accept it was a mistake by me. I'll delete it from there. Anyway, that list of links isn't the official evidence list, so don't worry too much: It's only to show the arbitrators some diffs we consider make this request important. --Neigel von Teighen 22:27, 6 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Transclusion edit

Hi. Here's a boiler plate message:

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

Keep up the good work! - brenneman(t)(c) 11:33, 7 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Response to Monogamy edit edit

In responce to your removal of my removal of links on the Monogamy page, I do understand how links could be used in a helpful manner by including sides of an argument. Also I understand how this doesn't bias the article, but what is wikipedia's policy on potentally religously, racially, politicly, or sexually inflammatory articles? Would it be acceptable to post a link to an abortion clinic on an abortion page or a Klu Klux Klan web site on an article on African Americans? Perhaps all pages should show their material completely neutraly instead of evening out bias on both sides.

On the contrary, the anon in question is a persistent vandal whose IP changes slightly each time he vandalizes. He doesnt need to be welcomed, he needs a stern reprimanding. freestylefrappe 23:59, 19 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Help edit

Could you explain templates, categorys, and tables to me the Help sections were difficult to understand. The tables section seemed not to tell you how to make tables, but when you shouldn't! As you pointed out, I am new to wikipedia, but spend most of my wikitime looking for vandals(6 so far) and I would like to get into more advanced editing and article creation. Thanks Kewp

Thanks edit

Thanks, the only problem with your suggestion was to start editing articles! Wikipedia is already perfect! (LOL) Just one question on the templates, where and how would you use them, do you just use the template's format? Or do you actualy type template:xxx in the article. I think the former because I have never seen the template: in an article, but I am not anywhere near sure! As you can see, help isn't very useful(maybe once I learn more about templates, I'll rewrite it), thisis better but a little hard to understand with no idea what templates are for. Thanks for helping out a noob!

Gemuetlich edit

Gemuetlich is the adjective of Gemuetlichkeit, I meant to say that the scene of the arrest looked quite peaceful, more peaceful than my average working day. Even the police was smiling. I do not think that there is good translation for the word gemuetlich. Andries 19:10, 20 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

New template edit

I made a new template, template:greeting that is a better version of template:welcome could you put it in the Help file's list of templates? I don't know what sub category it should be under. Thanks,

Template:Suicide dispute edit

As Sn0wflake has ceased his attempts at informal mediation, I have composed an agreement at Template talk:Suicide#RfC/Editing pact for us to sign. As a show of good faith, I'd like us to all agree on a voluntary process to resolve this dispute. For instance, instead of just having one of us file an RfC, I'd like us all to write one up. Thanks for your help. — Phil Welch 03:33, 27 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your help with polygamy arbitration edit

The last few months have been painful. Your evidence on the arbitration page made a big difference. A permanent ban on Researcher99's edits of polygamy was more than I expected. I had an unrealistic assumption that he might eventually learn to work well with others.

Now, I have to determine whether I have enough interest left to work on the polygamy article itself. It will probably take a while for me to get back in editing mood. Nereocystis 20:46, 15 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
