Please stop introducing links to disambiguation pages as you have done here, here, here and I dare say on many other places. Your edit here not only introduced a disambiguation link, but also completely changed the name of one of the authors of a reference. DuncanHill (talk) 10:33, 5 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm DuncanHill. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Cadwallon ap Cadfan have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. You claimed to "fix refs" but in fact introduced a number of incorrect changes in the text DuncanHill (talk) 10:35, 5 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

"Fixed refs and citations"

edit

Re: this edit - please could you explain what you mean by "fixed"? You don't seem to have fixed anything, but you have made other changes throughout the article. DuncanHill (talk) 06:56, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Repaired Kennethmacalpine (talk) 07:00, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
But how? In what way? They were working before. What do you think needed to be repaired? DuncanHill (talk) 07:06, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
They are still working. Kennethmacalpine (talk) 07:13, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Are you going to answer the question? What do you mean by "fixed"? You haven't fixed them, you haven't repaired them, what do you think you have done? DuncanHill (talk) 07:16, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Are you a troll? Kennethmacalpine (talk) 07:18, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
You have repeatedly made bad edits, you now repeatedly make edits with misleading edit summaries, and refuse to explain what you mean. DuncanHill (talk) 07:20, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Kennethmacalpine Are you going to withdraw this accusation? If not expect to be blocked. Doug Weller talk 13:27, 6 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Avoid unconstructive edits

edit

@Kennethmacalpine Really? Why would you be changing CE to AD? CE is currently regarded as a neutral term and you should not be adding that anymore, as you did here. You even added this < inside the sentence before although in the same edit above. Country pages are very sensitive and you shouldn't be adding unconstructive or testing edits like that. Again, avoid your false edit summaries. What has "review" (as an edit summary) to do with unconstructive changes? Tumbuka Arch (talk) 08:49, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'd like to know also. Your edit summaries could be called deceptive and in some cases hide a major change in era style. Doug Weller talk 09:47, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

July, 2024, part two

edit

Hello. Can you please be more careful with your edits, and conform to the community's guidelines and practices, and not just do what you want, which seems to be the way you are currently behaving.

  1. Here you indicated that you changed the infobox; you also, in fact, changed the short description (possibly needlessly), you change the lead sentence, moving around the man's names, giving an incorrect translation in the process, you changed the dynasty he was a member of to a clearly incorrect branch of the House of Gwynedd, and you needlessly added wlinks to common and obvious nouns. I have corrected some of this, and will be correcting more.
  2. Here, among other things, you changed the template we use to indicate the language in the article from {{Use Welsh English}} to {{Use British English}}! I cannot imagine what prompted you to do this on the page of a man undeniably Welsh; certainly the one redirects to the other, but who is to say that at some point there may not be a reason for the former to exist, in which case your change is going to have been harmful, while at this point it is not necessary at all (because of the redirect). In addition, you again changed the short description, calling Dafydd "king" rather than "prince", which does not seem to be correct.
  3. Here you reverted a user of reasonable experience (nearly ten thousand edits, compared to your two hundred) who had undone your changes with a very clear and specific reason Unexplained changes, no sources to back up, but you gave no explanation at all for your revert.

These are just three of your edits that there are problems with, i picked them almost at random, so i suspect that there are many more. I don't know if anyone has put a welcome template on your talk page yet, i haven't checked, but guessing that they have not, i am going to in just a moment, because these templates have a super list of links for the new and newer editors to look at and read, in order to help them (you) become better editors and functioning members of the community. Hello and thank you for your comments. Can you blue me? André. Kennethmacalpine (talk) 22:06, 14 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure what you mean by "blue me"; assuming you mean turning your username blue in links, i have created your userpage by putting a meaningless character on it. It's up to you, though, to decide what you actually want on your userpage.
It is, i'm afraid, almost entirely meaningless for you to thank me for my comments without bothering to read them or, if you did, to take them in. I see that you have, since i wrote here yesterday, reverted me with no summary or comment on Malawi, and put Hywel Dda back into the wrong dynasty and changed the way his name was presented (which another user has changed back). Please take the time to read my comments and understand what i (and others) say here: It's not merely empty mouthing, but we care about the encyclopaedia and are attempting to help you to do so, too. Thank you. Happy days, ~ LindsayHello 06:13, 15 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

First name in leads

edit

Under MOS:FULLNAME and MOS:BIOALTNAME we usually have the full name first, followed by the common name (epithet) if any, like Alexander the Great not starting with "Alexander the Great". If the common name were entirely different and unconnected to their full/birth name or became their actual name then it may be used first in those cases. DankJae 22:23, 14 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
