Lumension Security request for help

edit

Hi kendraelise0, and thanks for your email. In answer to your question, you are better off trimming down the article so that all statements are referenced by third-party sources. Any information generated internally (eg, press releases, own website) is not considered reliable.

Wikipedia is passionate about maintaining a neutral point of view, as you would expect from an encyclopedia. It is particularly rigorous about corporate pages, because very obviously some people attempt to advertise their organisations via Wikipedia, which could affect the reputation of the whole site. Verification is the key word and that comes from having been published in trusted sources. As a guide, the strongest references are things such as newspapers, magazines, highly-regarded online news sites and the weakest are internally generated or obvious promotion of one perspective (press releases fall into that).

I'd suggest trimming out the information in the acquisitions and timeline section if you don't have external sources, plus anything else that doesn't meet WP:NPOV and WP:V guidance. You'll end up with a shorter article, but better that than none at all (or one that gets flagged up by editors as non neutral). An article is always a work in progress, so more information can be added as it becomes available via reputable sources such as newspapers. Hope that helps and do get in touch if you need any further guidance. Libby norman (talk) 12:54, 12 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Lumension Security logo.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 10:35, 19 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Lumension Security logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:32, 5 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
