Template messages - Miscellaneous

I see you've created Wikipedia:Template messages/Miscellaneous containing templates for punctuation marks, emotions and psychology. I'm wondering whether these templates shouldn't actually be listed at Wikipedia:Navigational templates instead, since their purpose is ease of navigation between related articles. See also my comment at Wikipedia talk:Template messages#Navigational templates creeping into table. - dcljr 00:38, 20 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. If nobody disagrees, I will move them to the correct location soon. Although, I believe that a link to the Wikipedia:Navigational templates page should be put in the Misc. section instead, so that more people don't make that mistake.--kenb215 02:47, Feb 20, 2005 (UTC)

Duplication removal

Hi Kenneth. Thanks for taking the time to close out the Duplication removal project. I've restored the link on my userpage because I'd like to keep that as a historical reference of a project that I was heavily involved in. Thanks again for your work, and let me know if there's ever anything I can do for you in the future. EWS23 (Leave me a message!) 03:10, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: Vietnam/Heaven

Howdy, thanks for the note. If you think the article can be moved back to its correct name without any technical trouble, that would be cool. I rescued it from deletion a while back and thought I needed to rename it. Thanks! --Aguerriero (talk) 14:10, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Community Portal Subpages

I have nominated all redirects at redirects for deletion. Good work. Lcarsdata (Talk) 15:24, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Community Portal/Archive 1 has also been nominated for deletion at WP:MFD. Lcarsdata (Talk) 17:49, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
I have also tagged some pages with Template:Historical (the ones you listed for that). Lcarsdata (Talk) 17:51, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
I have no created an updated version in my sandbox in case you didn't want it updating, if it is any good copy it over to your page to avoid confusion and keep everything in one place. Lcarsdata (Talk) 06:45, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Just a note to say you never signed your vote at WP:MFD. Lcarsdata (Talk) 19:17, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

wrongtitle

According to that you are correct, I just thought that that message is very misleading, it states "existing namespace", when there is no such conflict. It's more of a technical difficulty which is why I set it to wrongtitle, but apparently you are correct. Schicksal 01:06, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

re: exception

Well, it's a bit of a grey area since the transwiki tag just means there's a suggestion that it should be transwiki'd... it's not like the move is set in stone. Still though, it's probably better not to create inbound links until a resolution has been reached (since you might be creating a bunch of links that will soon go to a soft redirect or a redlink, quite possibly). I will think a bit more about this, but I will probably try to have the bot ignore pages with a transwiki tag by the next time it runs. Thanks! --W.marsh 00:09, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Template:TB2

What is is susposed to be is a copy paste line that I'm going to add into the warning messages the bot gives out so if they complain I know exactly what edit they're talking about -- I started and sort of forgot about it for a bit -- Tawker 03:26, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

JumboTron

Hey, thanks for the information, I stand corrected! Clearly I was mistaken about capitalization limitations in article titles. As for JumboTron, it should definitely be moved to the correct title. FG Fox 04:01, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Orson Welles & my browser

Hello,

Thank you for responding to my problem with the Orson Welles Article. I need to say that I am very computer challenged, and rely on the kindness of others to get me through some things. My computer is a Power Mac G3 running Mac OS 8.6. My browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.1.7. I hope this helps.

Thank you,

Image Copyright

I saw that you created the copyright template, {{PD-GI}}, and added to several images that you uploaded. The template says that anything on the site's archives can be used as long as credit is given. Where on the site does it say that? I looked for copyright information on it, but couldn't find any. Thanks. -- kenb215 18:29, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello, I am the Institute's director and all my uploaded images have my special permisson to be used as my copyright template says. Thank you,

Moving Ameglio

I put the {{moveto}} template on Ameglio because I tought many people had seed the page (also survived an afd debate) and not propose the move themselves... maybe this guy was known only as Ameglio or something, I have not been very bold :-) well I think I really should move it to Pietro Ameglio after all.

WikiProject Disambiguation Talk Request

This is a form message being sent to all WikiProject Disambiguation participants. I may have found your page based on your contributions or your link repair user box on your user page. If you are not a member, please consider including your name on the project page. I recently left a proposed banner idea on the WikiProject Disambiguation talk page and I would appreciate any input you could provide. Before it can be approved or denied, I would prefer a lot of feedback from multiple participants in the project. So if you have the time please join in the discussion to help improve the WikiProject. Keep up the good work in link repair and thanks for your time. Nehrams2020 23:01, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Mu versus μ

Hi. I noticed you moved Modal mu calculus to Modal μ calculus. Please be advised that it's been requested at Talk:Modal μ calculus that the page be moved back to the previous title, per WP:ENGLISH. I'm not so much taking a side here as letting you know because there hasn't been any discussion, which makes it difficult to judge consensus. Since you moved it once, I figure maybe you're interested. -GTBacchus(talk) 19:35, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject Method Engineering

I just posted some comments about this project at Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Method Engineering Encyclopedia#Additional comments. However, I do think that the time has probably come for wikipedia to decide what, if anything, we finally want to do about these articles, and would very much welcome any input you or anyone else might choose to give on it. Thank you. Badbilltucker 14:36, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

re: Method Engineering

Most of the articles require a significant amount of copy-editing/merging. I neither have lots of expertise on this subject nor the will to put a lot of effort in it at this time. If will have a quick look at the articles during the week and propose some for deletion/merging/cleanup/... but I don't think I can/will do much more. If you have any specific questions/request just ask me and I'll see what I can do. Regards, —Ruud 00:12, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Digital Rights Management

I've reverted your entire change to the lead section of this article. Sorry. We've been through the debate about the positioning and importance of the criticism of the technology, more than once, on the talk page. Please review those discussions. The key here is that we define "Digital Rights Management" -- literally, those three words and their precise meaning -- before we get into criticism and politically-motivated rebrandings by detractors. This is vitally important for an encyclopedia that prides itself on neutrality, and aims for high informative value. Hopefully you're in agreement with this. Thanks. -/- Warren 06:24, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

I saw the edit as leaving just an alternate name in, while moving any politically-motivated debate for after the lead section, as it is in there now. But if consensus is against this, I'll stay away from the lead for some time. -- kenb215 talk 17:25, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Articles for creation backlog

"One note though, generally {{subst:afc top}} goes below the header for a section, as this makes section editing easier." Ah, yes, sorry. I realised that last night and have moved to doing it properly now! QuiteUnusual 08:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

WP:UW

Hi,

You have put yourself as interested in helping out atWikiProject on user warnings. We are now at a stage where we are creating the new templates and are wondering if you are still interested? If so please visit the overview page and choose a warning type you wish to work on. There is a base template available here, which you can copy and use to get you started. Have a look through the redirects and see what old templates are affected and incorporate them into the the new system. Anyway, any questions please don't hesitate to give me a shout. image copyright help

I uploaded this, and then OrphanBot tagged it as being unsourced and uncredited. Its from the National Archives, Image:US Army WWII field artillery.jpg. US Gov't work is public domain, even if it doesn't have a specific photographer credited, so I'm not sure what to do. Please help. Cornell Rockey 16:20, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

I appreciate the help. I hope that adding the US Army copyright tag might keep it away from the image. Maybe that bot could recognize the source was army.mil and that created a conflict with the fact that I originally only tagged it with a NARA copyright tag. I've been uploading public domain stuff for a year+ and this is the first time I've had trouble. So strange. Cornell Rockey 01:52, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

WP:UW future?

Hi, Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as active at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace template issue. As you are or have been active on this project we feel you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. Cheers Khukri 10:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Image:125-36 o2.gif

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:125-36 o2.gif, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:125-36 o2.gif fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Image description page for image on Commons

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:125-36 o2.gif, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 19:57, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Molari encurli

You THINK the joke is on you? Come on! The author actually said it was a joke! I db'd the article as vandalism. If it isn't deleted that way, the prod is still there. 172.165.52.192 21:23, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
