Bootes vs Canis Minor edit

Sigh - Bootes is getting there but it is so damn big - it's a tossup between these two as to go to GAN (or maybe both). Still scratching my head with Bootes and how to arrange the stars, but a bit sidetracked with other tasks....Betelgeuse is hitting a bit of turbulence :( Casliber (talk · contribs) 02:56, 2 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I was actually thinking the same thing myself. I would be okay with both going to GAN, let me get through this week (midterms D:) and then maybe nominate? If there's anything I can do with Betelgeuse please let me know. I'll keep working on Bootes in the meantime. Keilana|Parlez ici 04:11, 2 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Okay, Canis Minor and Triangulum Australe are now GAs and I think TrA will be next up for FAC. I was practicing on some of these smaller constellations before tackling a biggie, so am just buffing Leo Minor. I feel a bit lost with Bootes. I do have an idea for Orion, which is a constellation I am a lot more familiar with than Bootes..so watch this space...Casliber (talk · contribs) 12:09, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
That's fantastic! I've been busy with school lately and will be trying this weekend to wring everything useful out of a couple sources before I lose access to them, but next week I could easily help out. If you want, I could look over TrA and add anything I can find, ditto for CMi. I'm at a loss with Bootes too, perhaps we could start work on Orion and let Bootes go for awhile... Keilana|Parlez ici 14:53, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Essentially what I have found is this - the Motz/Nathanson book divides Orion into sub-bits (head, club, belt etc.) and discusses all the objects in a regional manner which gives it a nice structure, and it is fascinating as lots of the objects interact with each other (eg Rigel possibly illuminates the Witchs Head Nebula etc.). I'll get this on wiki soon. TrA is looking in better shape than CMi I think, so just some buffing of the former before FAC would be good. I am getting more intrigued by Rigel and the idea it might have a shell and have already been an RSG...in which case it is a candidate to go supernova before Betelgeuse....whoa...........Casliber (talk · contribs) 22:37, 19 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
I love that structure, that'll be an easy way to subdivide the article and then we don't have to try to split up stars and DSOs. Yay. If only we could do that for Bootes... I'll take a look at TrA for sure too, and I'd of course help out with the FAC if you needed it. :) Rigel is totally awesome, there's so much we have yet to figure out! Keilana|Parlez ici 00:57, 20 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok, so your vote would be to keep the DSOs in the segments....ok, that's cool. I was undecided about that....will continue. Been a bit swamped with stuff - got Leo Minor at GAN too, still sifting thru some stuff. Gotta get off the keyboard for a bit...if you have a few spare minutes to continue the TrA ref formatting that'd be great. Glad you started it but I got anxious and am scrambling to complete :P Casliber (talk · contribs) 21:54, 29 October 2012 (UTC) done it now so nevermind. cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 10:40, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

GOCE September 2012 drive wrap-up edit

Guild of Copy Editors September 2012 backlog elimination drive wrap-up

Participation: Out of 41 people who signed up this drive, 28 copy-edited at least one article. Thanks to all who participated! Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here.

Progress report: We achieved our primary goal of clearing July, August, September and October 2011 from the backlog. This means that, for the first time since the drives began, the backlog is less than a year. At least 677 tagged articles were copy edited, although 365 new ones were added during the month. The total backlog at the end of the month was 2341 articles, down from 8323 when we started out over two years ago. We completed all 54 requests outstanding before September 2012 as well as eight of those made in September.

Copy Edit of the Month: Voting is now over for the August 2012 competition, and prizes will be issued soon. The September 2012 contest is closed for submissions and open for voting. The October 2012 contest is now open for submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit entries and to vote.

– Your drive coordinators: Stfg, Allens, and Torchiest.

Hi, could you please provide a copy of deleted article California Chess Congress of 1858 to me? You deleted it after an AFD, back in 2008. Email notifications from my watch list? edit

Hi Keilana. I'm in Lisa Lu's Brain & Behavior class at Roosevelt University, and I am not receiving email notifications of changes to the articles on my watch list. I'm checking the list regularly, so I am finding the changes. It would be nice, though, to be notified. Do you have any idea what I can do to rectify this situation? Thanks! Hello! Im part of Dr. Lu's neuroscience course. I have a question for you. How do I go about citing references a few times in the article? For example, I want to cite 1 and 2 a few times in my paragraph but instead of 1 and 2 appearing again it is now 3 and 4 instead of 1 and 2. And all my other references are counting up instead of correlating to the actual reference I need. thanks R.EEGbrittry (talk) 21:18, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Voting is in progress for the September 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest. Everyone is welcome to vote, whether they have entered the contest or not.
  • NEW!! In the week from Sunday 21 October to Saturday 27 October, we are holding a Project Blitz, in which we will copy edit articles tagged with {{copyedit}} belonging to selected project(s). For the first blitz, we'll start with WikiProject Olympics and WikiProject Albums and add more Projects to the blitz as we clear them. The blitz works much like our bimonthly drives, but a bit simpler. Everyone is welcome to take part, and barnstars will be awarded.
  • November 2012 Backlog elimination drive is a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on November 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on November 30 at 23:59 (UTC). Our goals are to copy edit all articles tagged in 2011 and to complete all requests placed before the end of October. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits at least one article, and special awards will be given to the top five in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", "Number of articles of over 5,000 words", "Number of articles tagged in 2011", and "Longest article". Thanks for standing up for me. I really appreciate that. I was just trying to be creative on my talk page. Example: They're being so critical. Your adoptee needs advice edit

Please see User talk:SarahStierch#Adoption and provide assistance. Any other stalkers are invited. Your adoptee, User talk:RAIDENRULES123, is insisting on adopting other "fresh from the incubator" new users. Considering assorted factors it can only lead to the detriment of the New Users she adopts. What can be done? This issue deals directly with Editor Retention and how New Editors should be protected from factors they know nothing about. They dont know but they are being fed poisoned food. That may be extreme but only to express my alarm and fear. The new users this editor adopts are, without a doubt, in harms way. I have left a similar message @ Ryan Vessey and Dennis Brown's Talk page. I assume good faith on the part of Deidra. I also assume poor judgement.```Buster Seven Talk 05:52, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi Buster, no worries, I think she's gotten the message that she shouldn't be adopting anyone right now. I do think you could be a bit calmer and less apocalyptic in tone though, it's not the end of the world (or the encyclopedia) if a new editor is just a bit too enthusiastic. :) Keilana|Parlez ici 19:42, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Can you perform a history merge of her user talk page? Either that or archive and redirect the RAIDENRULES123 one? The existence of two userpages is becoming too confusing. Ryan Vesey 20:15, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Maybe I over-reacted. Maybe. I just wanted to stop it before it effected dozens of new editors. The one thing I'm sure of is that she is in good hands. I have copied your 5 Pillars test and moved it to a sandbox. If you have the time, maybe you could check out my answers. See User:Buster7/sandbox#Five Pillars test from User:Keilana. BTW, I live in Rogers Park. Small world. ```Buster Seven Talk 20:40, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ryan - yes I can, I just want to let her know what I'm doing and make sure she understands how it all works before I actually do it.
Buster - It's not a huge deal, editor retention is super important and your heart is definitely in the right place. :) I'll take a look at your answers when I get back to Chicago tonight. That's awesome, we should meet up at a library (Loyola's is lovely :P) and collaborate sometime! All the best, Keilana|Parlez ici 20:55, 28 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hi Buster. I just want to say, "I can't believe a person could over react as much as you did." Please, realize that it is not the end of the world. No one is dying. No one died. No one is being hurt, so stop over reacting. Please Buster. You are a great Wikipedian, you have made many results, you have influenced me, but please. Please, realize that it is my business and you don't have to spread it to other people's talk page if you don't mind. That makes me feel threatend and very uncomfortable. I appreciate the advice, but don't try to fix my business. Please continue to lend me advice and what I should do and consider, but please don't "alert the media." Thanks Buster7, I hope you understand the situation I'm in right now. Sorry if you disagree with my opinion. DEIDRA C. (talk) 21:14, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
I do disagree, but that's alright. Collaborators don't always agree. Please realize that your business is open for all to see. If other editors don't think what your doing is appropriate, they will take action. Many days ago I and many other editors asked you to be patient and not adopt other editors because you were not ready. When you did anyway, I felt that I needed to take action. I can see that you may not understand that but that's OK too. You are young. My advice is too continue to listen to veteran editors and do what they suggest. They will not lead you astray. ```Buster Seven Talk 04:54, 30 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Help request edit

Hi Keilana; how are you? I saw your name at the SPI area as a Clerk. Would you be kind enough to help me to open a sockpuppetry investigation? It is about redlink users Findblogging and IsrArmen. Their "contributions" speak for themselves; for me a very obvious case of sockpuppetry. As the first user is older here, we should suppose it is the master and the latter is the sockpuppet. (Although I suspect both accounts belong to a third user, I will not go that far for the moment. Sometimes killing the mosquitos instead of drying the swamp has the same effect as cutting the arms of a monster.) You can see an evaluation by DeltaQuad here. Please do not try to teach me how to fish, because I cannot learn (others tried in vain :-).(Before contacting you and even before contacting Delta I tried to open an SPI case by myself without any success. In a similar case, before, another user opened a case "in my name" stating this at the application. I believe and hope you may kindly do the same. As justification of the case please write: "Same articles, same interests, similar POV, similar style and same grammar mistakes, acting simultaneously on the same issues, especially lately, since IsrArmen was signed up". Thank you very much in advance and with my best wishes. Cordially. --E4024 (talk) 20:43, 1 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Stars edit

Hi. Been browsing and its irritating to find so many one liners and when I google the name nothing in google books, just a few database. I was thinking of making a proposal to merge many of these articles on stars and asteroids and minor planets into lists. What do you think?♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 20:37, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hey! I'm not entirely sure about these, because there is often a lot more information in books that maybe aren't searchable in Gbooks or whatever. Could you give me some examples? I think they should at least have a discovery paper or something... Let me think on it. Keilana|Parlez ici 20:50, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

9 Andromedae, 9 Aquarii etc... Couldn't a list better provide the info, unless of course it can be fully expanded? I'd guess that for most the information known about them specifically is sparse, or at least redirect to a list before a fuller article can be written? I'm not disputing notability of course, I'd have a decent article on anything out there! But I think there are an awful lot of database type stubs which would be better put into a tabled list for the time being..♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 21:42, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

That is true. I would support redirecting some of those to a list as long as all of the information was included in the list. As long as we could recreate once there was a significant study or some other information made available, that could work fine. My one concern is that articles like List of stars in Andromeda don't have all of the information included in the articles (e.g. color index, a lot of the astrometric data) and that would be lost in listifying. Keilana|Parlez ici 21:57, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
The other issue is that I like the idea of a redlink to highlight a possible article. Redirects create the illusion that something has been expanded sometimes. A great many can be expanded, like EK Trianguli Australis for instance. I must admit peer-reviewed star articles are alot more arcane than bio ones. I have the idea of losing info, and prefer trying to expand what can be expanded first. Casliber (talk · contribs) 00:49, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Well, for one, I would definitely prefer that we not redirect variable stars, at the very least, there'll be an AAVSO bulletin about the star and that could be the basis of an article. I also don't think we should delete these articles, as there's *something* there to be useful to a reader. I'm still meh about doing anything....though a lot of the stars with just a Flamsteed number don't really have much at all. Keilana|Parlez ici 01:09, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
I think at one point all stars visible to the naked eye (which includes all stars with Flamsteed numbers) were deemed to be notable enough to warrant their own article. One can fill out quite a bit of material based on their coding - e.g. spectral type gives us surface temperature, parallax gives us distance in light years/parsecs, parallax and apparent magnitude give us absolute magnitude etc. Most stars a binary, so info on that can be added, as can variability..Casliber (talk · contribs) 01:53, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
That's true, maybe prosifying a lot of that information could yield useful articles? I'm still unsure where I stand on this. Keilana|Parlez ici 02:18, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
A good example of a prosified article is Beta Pictoris. Casliber (talk · contribs) 08:03, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Congrats on WP Women Scientists, and glad to have you in WP Biophysics edit

Yes, I'm definitely interested in WP Women Scientists; I've signed myself up. I've been doing a bunch of editing in Biophysics-related biographies in general - even the men's pages are often missing or minimal, but of course it's always even more of a problem for the women's ones.

I've been adding both female entries and pictures to the List of biophysicists, and recently was disappointed that the photo of Rosalind Franklin was deleted for license issues. The photo was granted an exception for use on her own page - does or does not that allow us to use it in the list, where I also feel it's important because she's really iconic in this field? Thanks for any help or advice you have on that.

Might you perhaps be coming to the Biophysical Society meeting in Philadelphia this Feb? We'll have a meet-up for the WikiProject there, and are announcing a contest with buttons & barnstars and free membership & registration for the 2014 meeting in San Francisco. You'd have a really easy time winning one of the prizes! Dcrjsr (talk) 15:36, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes, there are always events for undergrads at the BPS meetings and they can attend anything else they want, altho of course most of them come from places local to the meeting. The BPS also arranges low-cost housing for students (which I used one time, to avoid wasting grant money!) Also, we could undoubtedly find a sympathetic member in the Bay area who'd give you a place to stay (my son lives there, for instance). The only problem is getting to the meeting - but if you got one of the 6 awards with free membership & registration your dept might be willing to help get you to SF. So, there actually are people even in academic science who value the kind of contributions you've been making to Wikipedia! Dcrjsr (talk) 16:08, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Quick note edit

Hi Keilana, just a quick technical note-- I'm not sure whether it's just me or not, but it looks like your candidate statement is not showing up on the WP:ACE2012/C page. Best, Lord Roem (talk) 21:39, 14 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hey Lord Roem, thanks for the note! I actually just realized that I totally forgot to transclude. Derp. I'll go do that now! Thanks, Keilana|Parlez ici 22:20, 14 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Another note, your required to "confirm that the candidate will fully comply with the criteria for access to non-public data" in your statement, its a formality but you should add something about it. It doesn't count against the word limit. Monty845 22:56, 14 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

GOCE November 2012 copy edit drive update edit

Guild of Copy Editors November 2012 backlog elimination drive mid-drive newsletter

  • Participation: Out of 31 people signed up for this drive so far, 22 have copy-edited at least one article. If you've signed up but haven't yet copy-edited any articles, every bit helps; if you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us!
  • Progress report: We're on track to meet our targets for the drive. We have reduced our target group of articles—November and December 2011—by over 50%, and 34 of the the 56 requests made in September and October this year have already been fulfilled. However, the rate of tagging for copy edit has increased, and this month we are just keeping the size of the backlog stable. So, all you copy editors, please do come along and help us!
  • The September 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest was won by Baffle gab1978 for his copy edit of Expulsion of the Acadians. Runner up was Gareth Griffith-Jones for his edit of I Could Fall in Love. Congratulations to both.
  • The October 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest is in the discussion and voting stage until midnight November 30 (UTC). You don't have to make a submission to vote!
  • November 2012 Copy Edit of the Month Contest is in the submissions stage until midnight November 30 (UTC), when discussion and voting begin.
  • Seasonal oversight: We had a slight fall from grace in the title of our last newletter, which mentioned the season in the northern hemisphere and thus got it wrong for the southern. Fortunately an observant GOCE member was ready to spring into action to advise us. Thanks! In future we'll stay meteorologically neutral.

I am on Facebook but I don't like to connect my real life identity with my username here, sorry. That's an awesome idea, how about working on the article for your hometown? One resource I just found out about was that my public library had a lot of books on local history. Editors not from the area wouldn't have access to that, so you have a lot to offer. We have a room for you at the Biophysical Society meeting edit

Turns out that for the set of us going up to the Philadelphia meeting, our grad student Lindsay would be delighted to share her room with you. I've also requested that the society cover your air fare from Chicago and your registration, which I expect they will agree to. We'll be there from Sat morning (2/2/2013) thru Wed afternoon, but if you can't be away that long you could come Sat night and leave Tues night. Sunday is the session for undergrads, where they'd love to have you, and Tues afternoon is the WikiProject Biophysics session. In between, there are all sorts of great talks. You might want to stay for the National Lecture Tues evening, which is by Karolin Luger, who solved the first structure of a nucleosome and is a great speaker and an outstanding woman scientist! Actually 4 of the 6 award winners are female this year, too. I assume you're still interested? Dcrjsr (talk) 02:54, 25 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Featured articles edit

I got involved with FAs because I wanted to score points in the WikiCup. Bivalvia was my first effort and you were very helpful at the GA sage. To take an article to FAC takes a great deal of time and effort and for it to fail there because few people have become involved with reviewing it would be disappointing.

I was going to suggest that I reviewed Ann Bishop (biologist) but I see you already have all the support you are likely to need there. Would you be able to take a look at Amphibian for me? I have been trying my hand at contributing to reviews and can reciprocate the next time you have a candidate. I guess there is an inverse relationship between the length of an article and the willingness of people to get involved with reviewing it. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:24, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hey Cwmhiraeth! I'd be happy to review it - probably sometime this weekend, if that's all right. I just need a chunk of a couple hours to sit down with it. Keilana|Parlez ici 16:07, 28 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Dispute resolution volunteer survey edit

Dispute Resolution – Volunteer Survey Invite

Hello Keilana. To follow up on the first survey in April, I am conducting a second survey to learn more about dispute resolution volunteers - their motivations for resolving disputes, the experiences they've had, and their ideas for the future. I would appreciate your thoughts. I hope that with the results of this survey, we will learn how to increase the amount of active, engaged volunteers, and further improve dispute resolution processes. The survey takes around five to ten minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist in analyzing the results of the survey. No personally identifiable information will be released.

Please click HERE to participate.
Many thanks in advance for your comments and thoughts.

You are receiving this invitation because you have either listed yourself as a volunteer at a dispute resolution forum, or are a member of a dispute resolution committee. Hi. I noticed that you were looking for a parasitologist a while back. I know a little about this area and would be happy to help if the need arises again. DrMicro (talk) 11:39, 2 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

My pleasure. I will get back to you very soon. DrMicro (talk) 12:00, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
The page isn't bad but there are a few minor odds and ends.
  • ' Aedes aegypti, a malaria vector, ' - Aedes is not a genus that is able to spread human malaria. It may be able to spread other Plasmodium species and cause malaria in other animals but in general when we say malaria vector without any further qualification we mean a vector capable of spreading human infecting species. If you want a list of these try Taxonomy of Anopheles. It's missing about 100 species - which I really really must get around to putting in. I think all the vectors of human malaria are listed there. If you need a list of human infecting species the Plasmodium page has a link to a page with a list of these.
Here it is - Plasmodium_species_infecting_humans_and_other_primates
  • ' having high standards. ' That's nasty as it suggests that her colleagues didn't have high standards. My suggestion would be to rewrite or to eliminate that piece. Although I have never met the woman a remark like that suggests that she wasn't much of a team player for whatever reason. Cambridge may have been a very difficult place for women to work then- I just don't know.
  • 'Honours School of Chemistry.' Might I ask where this place is? Usually a school of chemistry is part of a university. The honours part usually refers to the students undertaking the honours course rather than the ordinary (or pass) degree. Maybe it was different back then??
  • ' [T]wo years ... in 1941, a D.Sc. ' This is probably better in her science career section. The chronology here is a bit of a mess.
  • The piece about the doctorate probably belongs with the PhD
  • ' Malaria vaccine '. Hmm. There are LOTS of people who could make such a claim - some are rather implausible. Either drop this bit or explain how this makes sense. BTW there are some partial malaria vaccines available. None are very good - which is a real pity.
  • Plasmodium can develop resistance to quinine. Its rare but well documented. If you need a ref on this its somewhere in the page on Plasmodium biology - I cant recall exactly where. The mechanism of resistance is not well understood and it hasnt been studied that much in contrast to chloroquine.
There are two useful refs on the biology page. Quinine like chloroquine is localised to the digestive vacuole. The ref to resistance is in the section on transport/secretion. It refers to a transporter protein that may be involved in quinine resistance.

Hope this helps. DrMicro (talk) 12:27, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you so very much; I will get to these this week. I am so grateful for your help! :) Keilana|Parlez ici 13:06, 3 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I second that emotion. Congratulations on a great campaign and hope you'll consider it again in the future. Meanwhile good to be in the trenches with you :-) --KeithbobTalk 18:18, 19 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Buster, you are a good "compañero". Now I see that two people I voted for, Signor Salvio and Brad from NY,NY have passed the "bad luck" test... --E4024 (talk) 19:18, 19 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Just wanted to touch bases with you and thank you for throwing your hat in the ring. Please know that you are appreciated by the community... your work does not go unnoticed. Like the others have stated, I sincerely hope you consider running again in the future. I'm in your corner (just in my little corner of the world). Hope you have a wonderful holiday, however you choose to celebrate! Many blessings, Cindy(talk to me) 22:22, 19 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

First article - can use some guidance thx! edit

Hi Keilana, i just started to edit/create in Wikipedia. I submitted a new (my first) article earlier today (Mary L Foster, Biochemist 1865-1960), a copy is in my sandbox, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Slventura/sandbox There's still work needed on it, but I'm interested to see the complete publishing process thru and learn with this first one. If you have any tips for a newbie that'd be great.
I'm also testing Wikipedia Mobile on IOS and hope to do some editing/contribution over the holidays. I'm particularly interested in supporting the WikiWomen Scientist Project, is there an broader WikiWomen effort to promote work by women past and present, whether it's their work in science, humanities, arts, politics ... Thanks! Sylvia slv 00:11, 21 December 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slventura (talkcontribs)

Disambiguation link notification for December 24 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The 1975, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page One Night Only (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

plagiarism from adopted user edit

Just as a heads up, you adopted user Diedra C has been adding material copied verbatim from the source. I've contacted her, but thought you should be made aware as well. --Daniel(talk) 18:14, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

That's not good, I'll go check it out and talk to her. Thanks for the heads-up. Keilana|Parlez ici 18:55, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Keilana, some of this might indirectly be my fault. On her talk page a week or two ago, I posted a suggestion that she may want to consider working in article space. A discussion ensued that you can view on my talk page if you wish, but apparently she got a book for Christmas related to dogs, and posted some information. She linked it on my talk and I read through it. I don't own the book, but didn't think it was too suspicious, just obviously not from a neutral point of view, which I gently reminded her. Frankly, I'm not that surprised that she may have plagiarized something, perhaps you could make copyright your next adoption lesson. I don't really know how best to handle good-faith contributors like her, but clearly what I tried didn't work too well. --Go Phightins! 20:14, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
Hey, don't worry about it. It was a good suggestion - I've been trying to get her to work in article space and at least she's trying. Copyright will definitely be our next lesson. Thanks :) Keilana|Parlez ici 20:34, 30 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

WikiCup 2013 starting soon edit

Hi there; you're receiving this message because you have previously shown interest in the WikiCup. This is just to remind you that the 2013 WikiCup will be starting on 1 January, and that signups will remain open throughout January. Old and new Wikipedians and WikiCup participants are warmly invited to take part in this year's competition. (Though, as a note to the more experienced participants, there have been a few small rules changes in the last few months.) If you have already signed up, let this be a reminder; you will receive a message with your submissions' page soon. Please direct any questions to the WikiCup talk page. Thanks! Welcome to the 2013 WikiCup! edit

Hello Keilana, and welcome to the 2013 WikiCup! Your submissions' page is here. The competition begins at midnight UTC. The first round will last until the end of February, at which point the top 64 scorers will advance to the second round. We will be in touch at the end of every month, and signups are going to remain open until the end of January; if you know of anyone else who may like to take part, please let them know! A few reminders: *The rules can be found here. There have been a few changes from last year, which are listed on that page. *Anything you submit must have been nominated and promoted in 2013, and you need to have completed significant work upon it in 2013. (The articles you review at good article reviews does not need to have been nominated in 2013, but you do need to have started the review in 2013.) We will be checking. *If you feel that another competitor is breaking the rules or abusing the competition in some way, please let a judge know. Please do not remove entries from the submissions' pages of others yourself. *Don't worry about calculating precisely how many points everything is worth. The bot will do that. The bot may occasionally get something wrong- let a judge know, or post on the WikiCup talk page if that happens. *Please try to be prompt in updating submissions' pages so that they can be double-checked. Overall, however, don't worry, and have fun. It doesn't matter if you make the odd mistake; these things happen. Questions can be asked on the WikiCup talk page. Good luck!
