I'd like your input

edit

I'm not sure why what I'm doing is getting deleted, I am not spaming, I'm just adding a site that I play poker on. 1knowitall

  • Yes, you are correct, if it gets deleted that's fine. I am new to this, I will be adding a lot of useful info to this site, hopefully. Also, I'm not too sure if I should be replying here, or under my talk page.
  • You said you signed up, what is your username, I'll add you to my buddy list.

I tried to add you on TorontoPokerNetwork.com but it said that Sigo187 was not found?

  • I'm not sure what you mean by it takes a long time with a site for real dough. I'm guessing you just play for play money for a while? I like to play for real money mostly, especially because I'm a bit of a bonus whore. I cleared the $150 bonus in like 2 days playing 5/10. 1knowitall 07:54, 25 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • I deleted everything under Toronto Poker, but I think Toronto Poker Network is fairly unbiased and is a good expansion, please let me know what/how I should change it if you feel it's not any good. Please explain what you meant by using your sandbox. I know what a sandbox is, but why use it as opposed to you just editing the page itself?
  • Ok, I added all the info to your sandbox, how about you have a look at it, and change what you think needs to be changed and let me know?

Template substitution

edit

It is encouraged that you subsitute user warning templates, which I see you haven't been doing, save the {{bv}} template. I suggest you start doing this with other templates as well. Royboycrashfan   01:21, 6 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Violent Femmes

edit

I noticed you edited my phrase "(and subsequently forgotten)" out of the description of how they were discovered by James Honeyman-Scott of the Pretenders. I'm not going to get all upset and put it back (at the moment), but I wanted to let you know that I felt it was important to the story. Normally, when a band is said to be discovered, it means that someone found the band and gave them publicity, or got them signed, which leads to fame and fortune. In this case, the "discovery" led no farther than an opening slot with the Pretenders that night. The band was booed and forgotten. It was only shopping around their fully recorded record, some tiume later, that got them a record deal. In short, I wanted to make sure nobody thought that this was the classic "discovery" that put the band over the edge of stardom. Freekee 06:02, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I think I'll put my description on the Femmes talk page, for the next time someone wonders about it. Freekee 04:58, 19 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Posse of Two

edit

It's actually already been deleted and AfD'd... Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Posse of Two and probably should be deleted again. No one has a right to WP articles, inclusion standards apply to everyone... but I usually put up the notability request rather than delete, to give new users a chance. --W.marsh 02:25, 13 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's clear sockpuppetry, the closing admin will not count all those comments. I thought about closing it early but that would be just a bit irregular. --W.marsh 23:36, 19 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

TKE, Thanks for editing the recent vandalism to my user page (although the second entry was actually me -- it said I was logged in when I updated my user page!). I appreciate you taking care of it. Spice Girls

edit

Hi - thanks for your comments in the Spice Girls discussion. If you have a sec, I'd like your advice please. The general consensus seems to be to merge the library with the discography, which will work much better, and remove the needless Solo Spice Girls information from that page and put it on the Girls individual pages. I'm shortly going to start doing that - but I can see problems. I'm almost certain one user at least will just revert back all the changes. How do you recommend handling the situation? Also, do you mind leaving comment in their disscussion page (on the Spice Girls article) to illustrate this isn't me just trying to ruin his page lol...
Thanks for your time! Rimmers 21:34, 21 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

You know everything will be fine, if only Rimmers would stop planning to move the Solo stuffs on his own article, he just want his article to be bigger. I don't get why he want to move that on the library, everybody knows Album/Single releases should be in a discography not in a library.--hottie 14:50, 22 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
Who on earth mentioned anything about making the library bigger? The consensus on the discussion page points to the fact the info included in the library will be moved to the discography - NOT the other way around. It has nothing to do with making "my" page bigger as it will be deleted- that is ridiculous, not to say childish. The consensus reached included removing the solo info and putting it onto the girls own pages - which are pityful at the moment and already include discographies (so their inclusion on the spice girls page is pointless).
Your constant hostility and rudeness irritates a lot of people and by constantly reverting other people's improvements on the solo pages breaks Wiki rules; despite what you seem to think you do not have divine say over what goes into the articles and you the pages are not "yours". (a message posted by hottie to Rimmers)
TKE thanks for your contributions; further steps are being taken at the moment, i'll contact you with details later. xx Rimmers 03:12, 24 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Esperanza!

edit

Welcome, Keegan/March 06, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of KnowledgeOfSelf, JoanneB, FireFox and Titoxd. The next set of elections will be in April, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Question

edit

I went to the Gprime page by accident. It was simply a list of people on a website, so I put the "deletion" tag on the top. My question is how exactly did it end up getting its own page for a deletion nominatin? I noticed you wanted it out, so I was trying to figure out exactly how that worked. Was is done automatically? --69.145.122.209 02:30, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Signature

edit

Of course I'll help! First of all, do you know HTML? --TBC ??? ??? ??? 02:45, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

First, click on raw signature in my preferences. Then, add <font color="''(color of your choice)''">''(Words you want colored)''</font>.
For example: <font color="blue">TBC</font> makes TBC
And by the way, even if you do click on raw signature, you can still use wiki-formating. This means that you can still link your username to your user page and talk page by using "[[ ]]". --TBC ??? ??? ??? 03:04, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Gprime

Feel free. That one's awful, but there was one a few weeks back (some teenage forum) where they not only listed the posters, but the author had gone into a bunch of DAB pages for common first names (Kristina, Justin, etc.) and added the forum posters. This [1] is really ridiculous. Fan1967 14:20, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removal of Pearland High School article

edit

Much "uncited" information had been left on the article for weeks, the problem is that the media is denied access to the students and teachers therefore articles very rarely show up. You dont believe that 150 teachers quit? Check our schools tax records, however you wont that in any newspaper. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.10.137.25 (talkcontribs)

I've given Sovvy another warning. If he continues to vandalise give another warning or two (see WP:TT and then report to WP:AIV. For future reference, if you added the report to the top of the section I'd have probably got to it quicker :) Petros471 15:34, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeh, there are quite a lot of vandalism-related pages! I'd be interested to know what your thoughts are on WP:CUV- how can it be improved to make it a quick and easy vandalism portal for someone like you, who doesn't know every single page inside-out? Petros471 18:20, 1 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
