Regards to Administrators trying and/or threatening to block me..

I never would have imagined that this would happen a second time. Truthfully I thought it was just once that it was going to happen. I thought wrong... Regards. Keeby101 (talk) 09:07, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Also a grim WARNING to a certain someone that I hate! Fut.Perf. Do NOT ever come on to my talk page again!! Block me from editing all you want for saying this, but keep in mind that when you comment on my talk page, you are in MY domain. Anyone else is free to comment here. I also am wondering if it is possible to rename my account. Is there a way I can do that? To anyone who comes on to this talk page, please let me know. Regards. Keeby101 (talk) 10:01, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Truth be told. I have the worst online etiqutte and I am so far terrible at creating articles... :(

I have to admit I should rephrase a lot of what I say. I can be a total idiot when I say stuff or even make proposals. Hell, even when it comes to creating articles of my own I am a retard doing so...

When I say stuff such as this, "And if you guys decide to not have WP:AFG in me you all regret it." I am not threatening anyone. I even said on that talk page that I wasn't. I was just stating that it would be a major loss in the world of Wikipedia if anyone on Wikipedia were to lose any good faith in me that's all. But again I should have rephrased what I said or shouldn't have said it at all. Hell, I can't even get started on the lighthouse articles. I do not know how to make that interesting. Even if I do cite my sources. And as for the other articles such as the painting of the naked lady, I still do not know where to begin on even that one. I have looked at all that has been said such as the guidelines and how to create articles and I have to say that they do come in handy, but that still won't stop the fact that I can't make even an article such as one about a lighthouse interesting. Truth be told. Keeby101 (talk) 15:57, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Message

Hello. You have a new message at Anna Frodesiak's talk page. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 00:50, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

So my article was deleted......

Honestly, I was seriously about to move the article and rename it Lists of species that could possibly still be alive. However, I then go on to my watchlist and find out that the debate on the article's existence was closed and then formally deleted by Administrator Future Perfect Sunrise. It was honestly a very interesting article and I truly believe that people should have given it a chance for it to grow and become a full fledged list article. Oh well..as sad as I am about this, there is essentially nothing that I can do about now. :( Keeby101 (talk) 05:47, 25 August 2013 (UTC)

A few things that I need to address followed by a question. --_--

Ok, I was going about my day today. Beginning to find reliable and accurate sources to back my the new articles that I am about to create. Bookmarked the sources and then went onto Wikipedia and took a look at my watchlist and the first thing that I see is this: Persistent restoration of unconstructive content by dynamic IP.

That whole edit war ended a while back just for the record. I even said in the description when I restored that map that it was Temporary until the Cartographers at the Wikipedia Map Workshop make a new map of the Sasanian Empire to go into the infobox. Now I am not sure if calling me "dynamic" was supposed to be an insult or not, but if it was then I am extremely offended. Also, how is that map non-constructive? Well it is a hell of a lot more constructive then the any of the other maps that were put in that infobox or anywhere on the article for that matter. The current map shows the Persians controlling Tansoxiana, Lazica and a parts of India whereas the one I made acknowledged exactly what other editors pointed out to me about the Sasanian Empire at it's greatest extent in the early 7th century. And yet it is called non constructive content?? o_O

Now I am sure that the user who said that did not mean make that sound insulting. It's just from my point of view because I am very sensitive to remarks like that that I found that remark a little bit insulting. :[

Oh well! Like I said before, I am done with the edit warring on that talk page and on the article itself! On top of that the page is semi protected now from what I saw on my watchlist. So even if I were to try to rehash the edit war, I couldn't. Lol :)

Another thing that I found heavily insulting is that when I had people take a look at my sandbox, one of the users on there went to Administrator Future Perfect Sunrise when I said "If you all do not assume good faith in me, you'll regret it". I even explained on the talk page that I wasn't even threatening anyone, I simply said on the History of Iran talkpage that it would have been a huge loss if they lose good faith in me because I had a great idea of making my own article on Early Modern Iran to which they deemed a fork in the end. Truly, wouldn't this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Russia_%281721%E2%80%931796%29 count as a fork according to that logic?

Again I say! Oh well! I will NOT engage in another edit war! But please take a look at my sandbox. Very interesting stuff. :D

Speaking of which! I have seen other users having several sandboxes. How is that so?? How do they have more than one sandbox? How do I have more than one Sandbox?

I will look at the handy box on top of my talk page for answers, but if I can't find the answer to my 3 part question there, then by all means please answer my question! Regards. :) Keeby101 (talk) 01:56, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

See the View History page of the article. A user employing different anon IP addresses (dynamic IP) repeatedly added unconstructive content, which was repeatedly reverted. The block on the page was not due to your edits. Laszlo Panaflex (talk) 02:13, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Oh...I..had no idea that was the case...apologies! Also, see the topic that I recently posted below. Regards and Cheers! :D Keeby101 (talk) 03:23, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Made a request for a new map for the Sasanian Empire on the Wikipedia Map Workshop and the Graphists and Cartographers told me to go back to the talk page of the article....

So I went on the Map Workshop of Wikipedia and made a request for a new map of the Sasanian Empire and one of the Graphists told me to go back to the Sasanian Empire talk page and start a new, calm and well thought out discussion and try to reach a consensus with other users. With that being said, I posted a new topic and in the title of the topic, I even said "Relax, I am not here to edit war, I am just doing what the Graphists and Cartographers from the Map Workshop told me to do."

Basically, I am just following orders. I actually made a very calm approach to the matter. Here is the link to the topic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sasanian_Empire#Went_on_to_map_workshop_and_made_request_for_new_map.21_.28Relax.21_I.27m_not_here_to_edit_war.2C_I_just_want_to_share_to_everyone_what_the_Graphists_and_Cartographers_told_be_to_do_which_is_to_start_a_new.2C_calm_discussion_here.29_:.29.29

I's not a continuation of the edit war as I said in the title of the topic itself, It is however a new topic that I started in attempt to reach a consensus with other users on the talk page about a new map of the Sasanian Empire created by the Cartographers of the Wikipedia Map Workshop. I am simply doing exaclty as the Graphists and Cartographers on the Map Workshop asked me to do. They said that if I start a new topic on the talk page of the article that is calm and well thought out and reach a consensus with the other users on that talk page when doing so, then they will create an entirely new map of the Sasanian Empire to go into the infobox of the article. Regards. :D Keeby101 (talk) 02:26, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

I know what to do now!

Oh boy! Are you all in for something grand! I won't tell anyone what this thing is, but I am telling you that when it is done, it is going to be WICKED FREAKING AWESOME!! I am not trolling here by the way! I am just doing something that will wow everyone here. Believe me! I will give you all a hint: It is on an old topic and on several brand new topics that include images that were linked to me a few weeks back! Cheers! :D Keeby101 (talk) 05:01, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Trying to reach a consensus on the Sasanian Empire talk page.

So far, only one user HistoryofIran has responded to the new topic titled Recommendations to Map workshop team, to which he agreed with the recommendations that I proposed there. Hoping for others to respond soon so a consensus will be reached. Regards. :) Keeby101 (talk) 23:46, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Waiting for responses...

I am glad that I have gotten a second response on this topic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Sasanian_Empire#Recommendations_to_Map_workshop_team . I have given everyone there a deadline on the consensus. Not sure if it was a good idea to do that or not, but oh well. Overall, when it comes to any article or a users talk pages where I have posted on, I recently haven't gotten a response from any users except for one so far. I am being patient and I will continue to be patient, but at the same I am starting to slowly lose that patience as well. I am not sure if it usually takes a while for people to respond to others or not, but I certainly hope I am not being ignored. I am calmly approaching these talk pages, may they be user or article talk pages. Regardless, hopefully I will get more responses from everyone soon. :D Keeby101 (talk) 04:54, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Dear lord...I feel absolutely embarrassed now that I was told to go on to the WikiProject pages for stuff like this if I want to get more responses. Oops.. Keeby101 (talk) 14:09, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello, Keeby, I'd noticed your remarks on the Humanities Ref desk and thought to offer some input. Your recent experiences are certainly familiar to me and probably to most content editors. This is understandable and probably unavoidable, given the voluntary participation of individual editors and the circumstances that are likely to interfere with the editing process. It's easy to get exasperated and even discouraged, but the benefits of perseverance ultimately pay off and pages are improved. I'll share several points you might find helpful:
  • Content: If your edit content is challenged, be prepared with citations from reputable published sources. Solicit input from knowledgeable editors you've discovered through the page's edit history (where you can read the individual contributions) and the associated Project participants.
  • Contact: Most editors have listed an e-mail address through which you can contact them offsite. Personally, I most appreciate being directed to an existing page and topic where my input is solicited, without explanations in the body of the e-mail message. If a particular editor is unresponsive, there may be evidence on that editor's User page, User talk page, or Contributions that indicate a Wikibreak or other reason for a lapse in participation.
  • Responding: From personal experience and advice of editors more seasoned than I (including Admins.) - write your response offline and let it mellow. Some advise a 24-hr. cooling-off period. Read others' interim responses, if any. If you want to clarify your communication with a particular editor, the place is on that editor's User talk page so that the article's Talk page doesn't get overloaded with what amounts to a dialogue.
  • Written expression: As a self-trained professional writer, I warmly encourage the advice I received from editors recommending On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Writing Nonfiction (6th ed.) by William Zinsser. It greatly improved my overly wordy writing.
If you believe, as so many of us do, that Wikipedia is the place to share knowledge - be encouraged by the opportunity, keep on learning the ropes, and take satisfaction in what we all accomplish here. -- Deborahjay (talk) 15:18, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Diving into the paleontology articles soon and thinking of reviving my first article under a different name.

I have seen that there are a ton of prehistoric species that have thumbnails, but no articles. I will be creating many articles on those shortly! Especially articles about the ground sloths! My favorites! Also, I am planning to recreate my first articles originally titled: List of species rumored/believed to still be alive, the same article that was almost voted to be redirected to another article and deleted by Future Perfect Sunrise. I will give it a better name and provide better sources. However, reviving this article won't be for a while. I can't do that until I at least confront an administrator or hear advice from other users about this. Regards! Keeby101 (talk) 06:21, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

Your list article

You can ask the deleting Admin for suggestions. If that doesn't help, you can go to WP:DRN, but you definitely need to resolve the issues raised at the AfD. You might ask jbignell who had the only realistic keep !vote. The arguments for deletion were pretty impressive. Dougweller (talk) 09:30, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Explaining

I patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all. DS (talk) 02:33, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Late to respond to your message and I apologize for that. I have been rally busy and haven't exactly been able to get around to this. I just sent a message to the deleting Admin Future Perfect Sunrise and hopefully he will respond. I will probably talk to jbignell and possible go to WP:DRN if this doesn't pan out well for me. I sure hope it works out the first time around however. Regards! :D Keeby101 (talk) 18:44, 19 September 2013 (UTC)

My final attempt at reviving an article before I officially move on to others.

So I just filed a request to WP:DR and decided that this is my final attempt at this. As I said before here User_talk:Keeby101#Diving_into_the_paleontology_articles_soon_and_thinking_of_reviving_my_first_article_under_a_different_name

It's time for me to do two things!

1. Map making!

2. Creating articles about ancient species!

Creating the articles about ancient species will be quite a challenge! As I said before, if there is anyone that would like to help create these article and /or contribute to them, feel free to do so! I would love the help! Regards! :D Keeby101 (talk) 19:04, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Retrieving me original account that has been lost!

I am going to be honest here, Keeby101 is not my original account. I was originally called Kirby9856 or Kirby103 (Can't remember my original username!), however I am still relatively new to Wikipedia. My original account was created approximately a year and a half ago, but it did not last long (Lasted about a week) because I forgot my username and if you see the examples that I typed above showing what my username looked like, you can get a pretty good idea why. I have honestly been trying to get it back ever since, but recently I have decided to settle with my current username. I have checked everything at my Getting Help area of my talk page and it has nothing on regards to what I am addressing here. Reason why I wish to get my old account back is because of two things. One: From what I can tell, my current username has become rather infamous on the English Wikipedia for the most part. Two: I do not exactly like the account name that I currently have. I would preferably like to have the username Kirby over Keeby as in my opinion my current username sounds to prissy IMHO! Plus everywhere else on the internet, may it be blogs, email, etc, I am referred to as Kirby. The only question remaining is: How can I retrieve my original account if I can't remember my username and/or password?? I am not sure if the help desk will do any good or not, but I will give it a try. If that doesn't help, then I would sincerely like an Administrator or a user who knows what to do on regards to this topic to help me! :) Keeby101 (talk) 19:17, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Hello! There is a DR/N request you may have interest in.

This message is being sent to let you know of a discussion at the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute discussion you may have participated in. Content disputes can hold up article development and make editing difficult for editors. You are not required to participate, but you are both invited and encouraged to help find a resolution. The thread is "List of species rumored/believed to still be alive". Please join us to help form a consensus. Thank you! --Guy Macon (talk) 13:58, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Please do not assume that by opening this case I am making any assumptions about any administrative actions. I am going to review the situation and will make a recommendation after I know more. This might end up being sent to deletion review, or it might end up being a simple case of educating a new user. One way or the other, I am committed to helping you to resolve the dispute. --Guy Macon (talk) 14:17, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Wikmaps grant request : we need your support

Hello Keeby,
I just publicly announced a grant request on the Map Workshop talkpage. Please take a look, and support us on meta ! Cheer ! Yug (talk) 12:25, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

I just took a look and I will take part in this! I love maps all too much! Regards! :) Keeby101 (talk) 04:05, 20 October 2013 (UTC)

The map of the Sassanid Empire! New and Improved!

SORRY

I might be violating talk page guidelines by doing this, but oh well. THIS SECTION HAS TO GO SOMEHOW and I do not know how to get rid of it any other way. If there is anyone who can help me delete some of the sections on my talk page that would be greatly appreciated. Regards! Keeby101 (talk) 04:23, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Planning on changing my username. Is it possible and if so, how?

{{adminhelp}}

I am planning on officially changing my username from Keeby101 to Kirby (If that name has not already been taken that is).

Reason: It is true that not too long ago I was a brand new user on Wikipedia. However, I did have an account before this one that I lost. I can't remember the precise name of my original account, but it started with the name Kirby and had a few numbers at the end of it.

That being said, since I don't know how to retrieve my original account, I would like to change my username to Kirby because that was the name of my original account. On top of that, the name Kirby sounds a lot better than Keeby101 IMO.

Bottom line, I would like to know if it is possible to change my username or not and if it is, I would like to know how! Cheers! Keeby101 (talk) 22:35, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

See Wikipedia:Changing_username/Simple  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:25, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Kirby has been used - see https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3AListUsers&username=Kirby&group=&limit=100  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:26, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Keeby, another option is to keep the user name you have, and instead change your signature to Kirby or whatever. Then the new name (Kirby etc.) will appear when you sign on talk pages instead of Keeby101. This a DIY option that does not require an Admin involvement. Just go to the Preferences section of your account and follow the instructions in the Signature section. --KeithbobTalk 23:40, 5 January 2014 (UTC)

Message

Hello. You have a new message at Anna Frodesiak's talk page. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:50, 1 February 2014 (UTC)

On regards to Author Kaveh Farrokh

Recently I have been doing some extensive research on Kaveh Farrok's works and have looked up reviews his books have gotten from critics and buyers/customers alike and as it turns out, Farrokh's work has gotten a lot of flak for it's inaccuracies when it comes to the Achaemenid Empire, NOT the Sasanian Empire.

In fact, Jona Lendering was mostly critical of the first part of Farrokh's second novel titled Shadows of the Desert: Ancient Persia at War which covered the Achaemenid Empire: http://bmcr.brynmawr.edu/2008/2008-09-62.html . Although Jona Lendering's review of the novel has gotten some backlash as well: www.cais-soas.com/News/2009/February2009/05-02.htm

Kaveh Farrokh's first novel titled Sassanian Elite Cavalry AD 224-642 got excellent reviews from buyers/customers.

See Here: http://www.amazon.com/Sassanian-Elite-Cavalry-AD-224-642/product-reviews/1841767131/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?showViewpoints=1

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/reviews/Sassanian-Elite-Cavalry-AD-224-642%2FAngus-McBride/1006543379?ean=9781782008484

http://idreambooks.com/Sassanian-Elite-Cavalry-AD-224-642-by-Kaveh-Farrokh/reviews/174788

Reading the reviews that his first novel got from customers/buyers, a lot of them regard the content in the book to be accurate and well detailed.

That being said, Kaveh Farrokh's work on the Sasanian Empire seems to be pretty accurate! I can't wait for his next novel titled The Amrmies of Ancient Persia: The Sasanians! http://www.amazon.com/Armies-Ancient-Persia-Sassanians/dp/1848848455/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1392111118&sr=1-2

Kirby (talk) 09:37, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

We pay no attention to reader's reviews. Kaveh's an Internet friend of mine and I am not comparing him these, but I have found rave reviews for some real loons, almost any Creationist work, etc. Kaveh's books are not novels by the way. Dougweller (talk) 12:40, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Angry!

Ok, so I recently logged on to Wikipedia doing my daily activities that I usually do and I get a pop up that says that someone mentioned my name on a certain talk page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Byzantine_Empire#Explaining_the_complexity.2Fmisconceptions.

Going on to there, it appears that everyone is still stuck on that incident that happened a few months ago even though I whole heartedly apologized for it and took back anything rude and/or possibly threatening I said on that talk page. Yet they don't seem to acknowledge that at all. What makes this whole thing worse is the fact that they mentioned me by name and linked my username in the discussion which I am very angry at! So, I just had to address this as a result.

EDIT: My bad, they did acknowledge that I apologized lol.

Still, mentioning me is fine, but linking my username is crossing the line. Regards! Kirby (talk) 12:33, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

It was meant as a courtesy I'm sure so that you would know you'd been mentioned. Dougweller (talk) 12:41, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Agreed. Please don't be angry. Actually, not linking may be seen as a bit of a discourtesy as it might be regarded as talking behind one's back. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:14, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

Sources

Keeby, article talk pages are the site for discussion, not for you to dump sources and notes. That is what your sandbox and other user subpages are for. The discussion on your map proposal at Talk:Sasanian Empire is, for better or worse, ended. To avoid all of us pointless trouble, I'd suggest that you gather your material in a personal userspace, marshal your arguments again and with more care, and then, in the fullness of time, make a new proposal. Adding new sources after the fact is both useless to the discussion and distorting it, as you change the actual record of it. Cheers, Constantine 07:12, 18 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello Constantine! You are indeed right about my RFC proposal for the Wikipedia map cartographers coming to a close. It's very sad to say the least IMO. However, I did make a map of my own in the meantime that I recently uploaded that I would like to add into the infobox of the article:

It's not the best map, but you have got to admit it is far better for than HistoryofIran's map or any map of the Sasanian Empire that has been added into the infobox of the article! Cheers! Kirby (talk) 10:06, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

P.S. my latest map is heavily based of this source: http://ecai.org/sasanianweb/maps/sasanianempire570.htm

Kirby (talk) 10:06, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello again Keeby. I just noticed another error: Estakhr is put in a wrong place, it is a city in Pars, not in Kirman. I have made this mistake myself on the map i created, so i wondered if you could fix it on yours? --Mossadegh-e Mihan-dust (talk) 13:19, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

Hello HistoryofIran! Thank you very much for informing me about this! I will fix the error right away! Cheers! Kirby (talk) 22:56, 21 March 2014 (UTC)

Maurya

Would you please make changes to the map according to the book source at the Maurya talkpage. Thanks in advance.--213.47.76.227 (talk) 00:55, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Yes, but it would be nice if you would give me the specific changes that I need to make.Kirby (talk) 03:20, 6 April 2014 (UTC)

Russian America

Is there a source you could direct me to regarding the claims mapped in this? I am especially curious about the claims extending down into present-day Washington and Oregon.   Uberstadt (talk) 04:56, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

Nice map.

I like your map on the Mughal Empire can you do one for the Maratha Empire as well?? Nikhilmn2002 (talk) 04:00, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello there! It's been awhile since I have been on Wikipedia. I will gladly make a high quality map of the Maratha Empire! Cheers! Kirby (talk) 03:03, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

Sassanian map

Hi,

Beautiful map you made for the Sassanian Empire, just one thing. The Sassanians did possss over all of Abkhazia/Lazica too at their maximum extent, however, it's not added to the current edition of the map. [Empire 621 A.D.jpg] Any case you could adjust this?

Regards and the bests - LouisAragon (talk) 21:50, 31 May 2014 (UTC)

Hello my friend, I will correct edit that part of the map immediately. Cheers! Kirby (talk) 03:05, 6 June 2014 (UTC)

It is done! Cheers! :) Kirby (talk) 06:18, 9 June 2014 (UTC)

I have returned for a little bit!

So as of now! I have returned and there are a few things that are knawing at me as of lately.

For the article about the Byzantine-Sasanian War of 602-628, I have got to replace the map that I made there with a higher quality one. I can't have that brown map on there because it is not only low quality, but also innacurate. But I am afraid that the Latins I.E. Greek users on this site will attack me and go as far as to remove another map of mine from a certain article that I had an edit war on.

So how can I simply replace my map without this scenario that I put in bold from happening?

On top of that, I am in need of making a certain promise of making a high quality map of the Maratha Empire, but I am afraid that when I present that, the users on that page will go beserk so to speak to.

Beyond map editing, the slight editing of the Mauryan and Mughal Empire articles is also a major problem that is prone to sensitivity. Can anyone help? Kirby (talk) 08:59, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Fulfilling old requests and wishing to become a member of the WikiProjects: Maps and Cartography or Map Workshop!

Hello everyone! Now that I am back for a little while (Until I have to return to my busy work life and all that is), I have decided to try to fulfill old requests that were sent to me a while back. On Wikimedia commons, a request was given to me to make a Khazar map in English since the one that is currently in the infobox is in German. Then I also have a request on my Wikipedia talk page on regards to making a high quality map of the Maratha Empire. Now I will only do these requests if everyone else is on board with it. Otherwise I will not do these! I have learned from my previous mistakes in the past.

Also, I would like to become a member of the WikiProjects, Maps and Cartography since I love to make maps so very very much! If users such as Begoon or Yug would contact me, then I would gladly explain to them why!

Back! But temporarily!

So I decided to come back for a little bit and try to contribute to the Wikipedia community as much as possible! I love map making as always and I do wish for my maps to be good.

On the plus side, I saw the Iranian Wikipedia and I wanted to share a map that I made on there. I could translate the province and city names of all my maps to Persian if they request it! But I thought that putting up my map on there was a nice gesture for them, especially since it is their history afterall. There map was pretty dated and I kinda felt bad. Hopefully they won't be angry that an American decided to edit one of their articles somewhat. I love to bring other versions on Wikipedia up to speed, but again I can only speak English and Russian so that's a problem.

I am only here temporarily, I got to get back to my college work! So close to graduating, just a year away! Kirby (talk) 20:29, 26 October 2015 (UTC)

Making a few more contributions and keeping stuff under wraps in some area before moving on to better things!

Never did I imagine that it would come to this! I was once a naive Wikipedia user who did a lot of stupid things. At least that's how it started out. Then as I took the advice of others around me such as ·addshore· , --Kathovo talk and Anna Frodesiak not to mention Yug, Begoontalk, Laszlo Panaflex and HistoryofIran I made astounding progress around here and have made great maps and have managed to achieve my contributions through consensus.

However, I do have college to worry about and I do not have time to work on Wikipedia anymore. Unfortunately, that is NOT the ONLY reason why I am leaving. I will quote from this gut by the name of SimpsonDG:

This user is on an indefinite break from Wikipedia (see below).

After six years of editing on Wikipedia, I've decided to quit the project. I am no longer willing to make contributions to Wikipedia articles.

Wikipedia was a nice project when it started, and I enjoyed working with other editors to contribute new material and improve what was already there. But things have changed drastically on Wikipedia in the last few years. The entire project has been taken over by bullies who seem to lack any common sense or interest in improving Wikipedia. Instead, their only goal is the ruthless enforcement of their interpretation of thousands of Wikipedia rules, regulations, and policies by deleting anything they deem non-compliant. This endless wiki-lawyering has created an openly hostile environment, and it has become almost impossible to contribute anything at all without having it immediately deleted, or to participate in a discussion without being threatened. Wikipedia has become "the encyclopedia that no one can edit".

I've been involved in quite a few projects in my life, both paid positions and unpaid volunteer projects. I can say, without hesitation, that Wikipedia is BY FAR the most hostile work environment I've ever been involved with. The Wikipedia "administrators" are the worst of the lot. Many of them seem to be only interested in acquiring power and authority within Wikipedia, and bullying other editors with threats to have them banned or blocked. Anytime you attempt to contribute to an article, your motives and credentials will be questioned, and your edits will be immediately deleted. If you complain about the instant deletions, these administrators will retaliate by searching your edit history and deleting your previous Wikipedia contributions one by one. I have personally gotten caught in some of this crossfire from time to time, and even had one administrator vandalize my user page. I recently caught another administrator rifling through my edit history for the sole purpose of looking for something he could threaten me with. It's no wonder that Wikipedia is hemorrhaging editors.

Consequently, I've decided to quit Wikipedia and devote my energies elsewhere. Also, I've started a Wikipedia alternative called Nanopedia, where I'll be posting new encyclopedia-like articles from now on.

It's a shame it's come to this, but Wikipedia just isn't the same project that it once was.

I very much feel the same when it comes to Wikipedia! Contrary to popular belief, I DID in fact have a Wikipedia account back in 2006 when I was a teen in middleschool. That account I had lost, namely because I left Wikipedia and when I tried to come back, I could not retrieve it for obvious reasons, so I started this new account and got serious when it came to editing and contributing rather than trolling around like with my prvious account and doing minor edits on that one. Even so, back then the community seemed much nicer and more organized and in a good way, not from a biased standpoint!!

With that all being said, I am indefinitely leaving Wikipedia until the hostility and overall, people's acts get cleaned up, nationalist bias on ancient history articles gets restrained and especially for the users in the paleontology field to cool it when it comes to a great deal of things I cannot even list!!!

I thank the ones that I have mentioned for making me a better Wikipedia editor, but until all of what I said and what SimpsonDG said before me gets well under control, I will not be returning! Farewell! Kirby (talk) 16:01, 5 November 2015 (UTC)

You're not leaving just because everyone wants to keep "Cold War II", are you? George Ho (talk) 16:56, 5 November 2015 (UTC)
No, I am leaving for a variety of other reasons. I am in utter shock that people still want to keep that article up, but that is not why I am leaving. I am leaving because I am far too busy in real life and on other topics such as Ancient Rome or Persia, people are outright hostile if you make the slightest contribution on there.

The Wikipedia community in the Paleontology area is nothing to scoff at either, they are equally guilty of me leaving this community. The final nail in the coffin would be the some of the biased administrators running around like Future Perfect at Sunrise who has in the past attempted to block me twice, has been outright hostile toward me and others in the past and in those topics such as Paleontology and Ancient Empires, rather than users trying to work with new Wikipedians when it comes to their editing, they try to shut them down! They with the help of admins such as Future Perfect at Sunrise have been largely successful in a lot of cases since 2009, I just happened to have gotten caught in the cross-fire and I do not want to be part of that anymore.

So until the community, especially in those areas of in particular clean up their acts and stop being hostile to other users, I will be on an indefinite break from Wikipedia. It's nothing against you or anyone on the Cold War II article debacle, despite the fact that I am shocked at the amount of stupidity users have when it comes to it, not realizing that they should MERGE the article into Foreign Policy of Vladimir Putin or NATO-Russia relations!

I will stick around for a few more weeks and try to make as many contributions as I an and get enough support to end that awful fork of an Article known as Cold War II and maybe put some new maps in the infobox of other articles such as the Parthian Empire. After that, I am leaving. I'd say three weeks tops! Cheers and Farewell! Kirby (talk) 00:20, 7 November 2015 (UTC)

I've said it once and I will say it again, but to anyone who comes across this talkpage of mine, I am only here for a couple more weeks and then I am sighning out indefinitely. I am also very busy in my personal life, that being said, it may be even shorter than that. However, I would like to thank the following people that I have mentioned before, including George Ho for being among the nicest and the most helpful Wikipedia users I have come across! Cheers, Regards and Farewell!Kirby (talk) 09:12, 9 November 2015 (UTC)

Hey!

Hello Keeby101!

I have a question, could you perhaps fix the eastern borders on Empire 621 A.D.jpg this map? I would like to ask you this, as the Sassanians simply never controlled territories to the east of the Indus at their normal extent. They never even had such eastern borders at their maximum extent. Btw, could you also make sure those parts of Abkhazia that fell under its rule at its maximum extent are coloured correctly? Not too little, etc? If you need help with this (or need some sources etc) feel free to let me know. :-) Bests and take care PS: I hope you have't quitted already? :/ - LouisAragon (talk) 14:29, 13 November 2015 (UTC)

Invitation to Wikinews

I want to email you directly about Wikinews, but I don't see your address publicized. I created one article, which became published. If you are not too busy, you can write news articles about anything on the press. It is a lot more comfortable there, so join in. --George Ho (talk) 09:28, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

Major changes in the "Cold War II" page

Are you there? I want to email you about the changes. To your pleasure, the whole mass amount of content was removed... Actually, it was cut and then pasted into the talk page. You can check collapsed content there. Recently, I started a discussion about whether to add China-US relationship into the article. --George Ho (talk) 19:17, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello George Ho (talk), I recently got your message. I'm back temporarily as you know. Since I am semi-retired from Wikipedia. Glad to hear that the Cold War II article has been cleaned up. I saw it for myself even. Thanks for letting me know. :) Kirby (talk) 02:01, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

In any case, can you help me expand a passage about US–China relations in the article? That way, the article might no longer be about Russia–US. --George Ho (talk) 05:19, 14 April 2016 (UTC)

Samarkand

Read: Encyclopedia Iranica
Shapur I's campaigns c. 262CE
"Huns" control Samarkand 420-457
King Varkhuman 660CE

This information and what the Cambridge History of Iran, Vol 4 states, I would say that the Sasanian Empire was not in control of Samarkand, although Sogdian/Samarkand coinage would reflect Sasanian influence until the Kidarites arrival. AND, the so-called "Turks" in the Samarkand article are actually Kidarites, who would have been established around Samarkand in the mid-late 4th century. --Kansas Bear (talk) 18:19, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

Thank you so much for the information and sources! Regards!Kirby (talk) 23:26, 29 April 2016 (UTC)

Making Maps is more difficult than I thought!

As of current, I am remaking my map of the Sasanian Empire, re-adjusting the borders, renaming the cities and furthermore, making it into a more high quality map.

I got most of the map down. However, I am having a great deal of trouble with the borders of the territories the Sasanian Empire occupied and getting a proper font to fit the city names in. Most of them are not that big of a deal on the eastern borders, but on the western borders, especially where Ctesiphon is I will admit it is quite frustrating.

Photoshop is VERY difficult to deal with when it comes to these maps.

As much as I would rather not do this, but I might not have any choice if I am drawn into a corner. If there is anyone who can provide me assistance, maybe someone from the map workshop? Please do put your input. I would be grateful. Cheers. Kirby (talk) 03:00, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Update

Ok, so as of now, I have finished red-adjusting the eastern borders, including the occupied territories. So it will take a few more weeks to a month to get done with the rest of the map. Be patient everyone. Cheers. Kirby (talk) 03:19, 21 May 2016 (UTC)

Update

As of recent, I am adjusting the names and fixing up the map again since I screwed up when using photoshop.

Almost done, taking longer than expected. Regards.Kirby (talk) 22:10, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Unfortunately because of the format the map was saved in it's difficult to make this change without distorting the image, minor as it seems. However, the maps original creator, Keeby101 appears to still be active, so you might try asking them to make the correction. Joe Roe (talk) 11:47, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
