Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 02:27, 11 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Inventing Letters EP

edit

Hello Keastes. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Inventing Letters EP, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to records. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 11:44, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jose E. Sanchez

edit

I concur with the prod. If he removes it without responding to the concerns we should AFD it. This is an example of a misused {{newpage}}. The tag is being used to keep a page from being deleted and to keep patrollers from demanding improvements.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 04:13, 24 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

it looked like a first time mistake of replaceing the {{prod}} with a Template:Holdon (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) i pointed it out to him on his talk page so lets see what happens.

I've changed your speedy tag - the repost one is only for things AfDed. It can't be used for things that were deleted at CSD or PROD. The 'discussion' bit is important. That's only at AfD or whatever fD it happens to fall under. Cheers. Peridon (talk) 18:01, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the heads up, you learn something new everyday. What would be your suggestion for me to do now then? kthxbai Keastes know thyself 18:07, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I retagged it db-inc. See what happens. They still seem to be adding to it. Doesn't look any better to me. Peridon (talk) 18:14, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
it looks like this is gonna get messy, heads up, im going to CC in user:Fox who looked up the original deletion records for me. kthxbai Keastes know thyself 18:48, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Don't think it will. Unless they get some good stuff in quick, this looks run of the mill. If they do, fair enough. If they get some after it's gone, they can try again. This is how CSD works - sometimes an article gets improved at the last minute. Sometimes it doesn't, but there's potential so advice is given. Sometimes advice is given and not taken. That's life. Can I suggest that a little improvement in presentation helps to impress the clients? I mean by that if you could use capitals and apostrophes, it would give a better impression to the 'victim'? It's not compulsory in talk pages, but it does improve the image. I used to post that way under a secondary name at a site not connected with Wikipedia to give a bad impression of the somewhat dubious character I was posing as. None of the regulars had a clue it was me... Here, of course, I am only Peridon (talk) 19:21, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I try to, just fingers cant always keep up with my brain, so i typically ditch such niceties as lesser punctuation and some capitalization in favor of getting all or at least most of the letters. kthxbai Keastes know thyself 19:24, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK. You could try a sllllooooowwwww approach to AfD.... Peridon (talk) 22:07, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've done an AfD before, when its talk pages and the like, ill go back over for readability, if its anything else, then uits get the second over for full grammer and punctuation. thanks for the concern. kthxbai Keastes know thyself 18:26, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Open-E DSS V6

edit

I've read your suggestions about the Open-E DSS V6 article. It's merged now with Open-E DSS V6 Lite (so you can delete it (I don't know how to do it). I've also added new source. What's next? Do you think it's OK? Hope you don't want to lead to delete of it. What about "reliable, secondary sources about the topic" - it's hard to find something. It's just a short product description, so the best source is the developer's website. Sources are good when you're quoting the opinion or you want to point on any not obvious that. Not in case of short description - that's my opinion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Philipcurrito (talkcontribs) 10:36, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

weather i want to delete it is irrelivent, there are guidelines i need to follow. take a look at WP:N, WP:ADVERT and WP:SOURCES kthxbai Keastes know thyself 18:23, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Tim McAlpin

edit

Hello---this is tim mcalpin. i had my page deleted and i would like to know what i need to do to have it reactivated. we are new at this and perhaps we didn't implement the proper procedures. if we remove the web site name is that what is needed? please advise. thank you very much. also, how do we reaccess our page so we can make the changes? 75.90.164.54 (talk) 14:49, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

try logging in and checking your talk page. seeing as that was the account that made the article it would probably be the best place to start.how ever i dont think you will get your page back. you book may be worthy of a page, but from what ive seen you your self are not notable enough. best of luck. kthxbai Keastes know thyself 18:23, 18 October 2011 (UTC
OK, since you are obvaiously more experienced and knowledgable how would you suggest that i place the book on wiki? should i mention i am the author of it? i am fine with not being notable enough but i would like to have the book on wiki.75.90.164.54 (talk) 13:51, 19 October 2011 (UTC) 75.90.164.54 (talk) 13:31, 19 October 2011 (UTC) [ helpme]{{helpme}}75.90.164.54 (talk) 13:51, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

x our questions is this: can we make as a wiki page on author timothy j mcalpin as author of the book "the river of the lord, a path through suffering."? if so, please advise why it was deleted by mr. keastes. if changes need to be made...please tell us what changes we need to make to have that page placed back up...if the page timothy j. mcalpin is not "worthy" of notability then please advise us that and we will not attempt to place it again---secondly----if we cannot place the page up as "timothy j mcalpin" as author of the book, then can we place a page up for the book..."the river of the lord a path through suffering" and cite me as author? or should we just forget it all? we will do whatever you say. thank you! 75.90.164.54 (talk) 15:11, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

ok you might really want to ask over at WP:ADOPT or WP:mentor im really unsuitable for helping you with that mostly b/c i have the people skills of a vat of nitric acid. best of luck to you. kthxbai Keastes know thyself 18:07, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

New Page Triage engagement strategy released

edit

Hey guys!

I'm dropping you a note because you filled out the New Page Patrol survey, and indicated you'd be interested in being contacted about follow-up work. This is to notify you that we've finally released both the initial documentation about the project and also the engagement strategy, which sets out how we plan to work with the community on this. Please give both a read, and leave any comments or suggestions you have on the talkpage, on my talkpage, or in my inbox - okeyes wikimedia.org.

It's awesome to finally get to start work on this! :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 02:26, 3 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

PGP-Key

edit

Hello Keastes,
you tell us on your user-page that you have a PGP-key, but you don’t provide it. Could you please use a pgp-template with an ID-field (like Template:User PGP)? Also it would be great if you could send me your key-ID by wiki-mail or leave it on my talk-page. Thanks :-). --DaB. (talk) 13:37, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I didint realize there was one, thanks for pointing that out to me, it might be a weekend or two before i can add it though, i dont have access to a trusted computer ATM.
OK, no problem :-). --DaB. (talk) 19:25, 18 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Declined speedy

edit

Hey, I've declined the speedy (sort of) on Moscow mule. There was some gross copyright going on there, but it looks like it was fairly recently done by an IP address. I've deleted anything that had the copyvio in it and restored it to the way it was before the IP got ahold of the page. That should take care of the page concerns and I'll leave a note on the IP's page warning them not to post copyright violations. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:28, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

thanks, dont know why it didn't occur to me to check for that. kthxbai Keastes know thyself 10:49, 9 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
