Stress uncertainty
Hello! I added the IPA for this person, but I can't figure it out on which syllable the stress is on.
- Alexandru Cicâldău – Romanian pronunciation: [alekˈsandru tʃiˈkɨldəu]

- @8Dodo8: It seems to me that the stress is final ([tʃikɨlˈdəu]), but it could also be initial ([ˈtʃikɨldəu]). It's definitely not [tʃiˈkɨldəu]. You need to ask a native speaker if you want a definitive answer. Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 11:36, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

- @Sigehelmus: Hello. Unfortunately, I have no idea how this word is pronounced in Afrikaans. Perhaps it's [ˈbanitʃœu], but maybe it's [ˈbanitʃau] (or perhaps with the last syllable bearing the primary stress). Actually thank you for giving me two ideas; I shall look for am active Afrikaans speaking user here via template category and/or ask the refdesk you linked above this section. Sorry if this request was too odd, the page is just a current small pet project for me, and I find Afrikaans to be fascinating as well. Re:OED
I'm moved to clarify a point on the OED. If a word is very obviously foreign such as Ångström, the native pronunciation may very well be listed alongside a more adapted one. I won't say this is because of orthographic depth, but orthographic depth is partly what's being accounted for in its inclusion here; it's for people who want to know what that (pronunciation) is. But of course carrying it over to Wiktionary is needless, particularly if a link to the Swedish word is itself close by. Gherkinmad (talk) 02:20, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

A few small requests
Hello again, I just wanted to drop by and ask you for help with a few things concerning IPA. If you don't know or can't verify or whatever else, I totally understand. I just felt you were a reliable reassurance! Here they are, the first to just verify their transcriptions:
- Issenheim
- Qaanaaq (Danish)
- David Saint-Jacques
Lastly I only ask this one because I just saw on edit an Azerbaijani article, but Benis. Yes. I overhauled the article in light of the name and vandalism it received from its name relative to a meme. Could you provide a Persian IPA (I couldn't find any) and maybe even an Azerbaijani one too as it it is spoken by many in that province? This will distinguish it from the "infamous" English reading. - @Sigehelmus: Sorry for the late reply - as you already know (you thanked me for my edit), the Danish transcription is definitely wrong. I can't provide the correct IPA for that nor for the other names (although the Quebec French transcription could also be wrong.
