Speedy deletion nomination of 80sTees.com

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 80sTees.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Thank you.

This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising,  . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You may freely add information to the page that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable.   Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to 80sTees.com. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Notability

edit

The chief problem at this point is that the company doesn't appear to be notable by Wikipedia guidelines. The references you provide are either not reliable sources (a web forum) or are trivial mentions of the company (the NYT reference) or both. Notability require that a company be covered in some detail by multiple reliable sources in independent media. A mere mention in the New York Times is short of an indication of notability: an article devoted to the company would be far better. The better references focus primarily on Mr. Stecko rather than the company. You also appear to have a conflict of interest that might affect your editorial judgment. I suggest that you create an article in a userspace sandbox at User:Katemm88/sandbox where you can develop the article and references: I'll put the last version there. In the meantime, please review WP:CORP, WP:NOTE, WP:RS and WP:V, and WP:COI as well for advice on notability, sourcing, and editing with a conflict of interest. To elaborate, the business journal articles help, and the mention in out-of-town media help, so you may be on the right track, but I'm concerned that the present version of the article wouldn't survive a formal deletion debate, which can be somewhat wounding. I'd rather you improved the article in a sandbox first before putting it back into article space. I can lift the protection so you can do that, or I can undelete it and see whether it survives a formal deletion nomination (as opposed to the speedy deletions of today), as on review I think the article makes a credible assertion of notability, but doesn't yet sustain it well enough to last. The obviously promotional nature of the earlier versions is unfortunate, so it would be best to have it worked out in userspace before putting it back in article spcae.Acroterion (talk) 14:48, 8 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of 80stees.com

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 80stees.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted.
