Translations edit

Please do not link Wikipedia articles to translations in your usernamespace. Move the translations to article namespace once they are done and then use the Wikidata item to linke them to existing languages. Johannnes89 (talk) 20:07, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

I tried to do that but sadly it always said that the article was protected from being edited although I could edit it, that's why I could never launch it normally in Russian. Could you help me maybe? I'm new to Wikipedia, sorry if I'm making problems. Karabakhazerbaycandir (talk) 20:13, 1 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
Most wikis have a page like Wikipedia:Requested moves, e.g. ru:Википедия:К переименованию which should help you asking for your translations being moved to article namespace. Johannnes89 (talk) 05:56, 2 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Deletion discussion about Coems edit

Hello, Karabakhazerbaycandir, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Edward-Woodrow, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Coems, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Coems.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Edward-Woodrow}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Nomination of Coems for deletion edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Coems, to which you have significantly contributed, is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or if it should be deleted.

The discussion will take place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Coems until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article.

To customise your preferences for automated AfD notifications for articles to which you've significantly contributed (or to opt-out entirely), please visit the configuration page. Delivered by SDZeroBot (talk) 01:01, 10 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, please don't recreate articles that are being discussed for deletion, as you did at Coems (Trend) - I have redirected the new article for now. The deletion discussion needs to play out first. If the article is deleted, you are welcome to request a draft to work on at WP:REFUND, or save a copy of the source for your own use, just in case. ASUKITE 16:55, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Fgffgdf edit

Hello Karabakhazerbaycandir,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Fgffgdf for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.

If you don't want Fgffgdf to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Extended-confirmed required edit

It has come to my attention that you have recently started to edit in articles related to Armenia and Azerbaijan, this editing area is under a community imposed extended-confirmed restriction. Your number of edits is below the threshold for editing in the area, thus you cannot currently edit in articles and content related to Armenia or Azerbaijan, please refrain from doing so, any edits you have done since this restriction was implemented should be reverted, I will take the liberty of reverting wherever it's appropriate. - Kevo327 (talk) 10:14, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Userboxes edit

Hello, Karabakhazerbaycandir,

You created some userboxes but mistakenly moved them to their own User pages. However, they are not editors, they were userboxes so the pages were deleted as belonging to nonexistent editors. If you would like them restored and moved to your own User space, let me know on my talk page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:54, 3 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Liz,
thanks for letting me know and correcting my mistake, I appreaciate it. And yes, I'd like the userboxes restored in my User space :) Karabakhazerbaycandir (talk) 11:12, 4 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics edit

You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Please note that in particular, Armenia-Azerbaijan topics are covered by a community-authorized general sanctions regime that prohibits editors with fewer than 500 edits and 30 days on their account from editing content related to Armenia, Azerbaiajan, or related conflicts, broadly construed. signed, Rosguill talk 22:25, 5 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

August 2023 edit

To enforce an arbitration decision, and for repeated violations of WP:GS/AA Remedy A. As an editor with fewer than 500 edits, you are not allowed to edit any content relating to Azerbaijan (or Armenia), broadly construed. Due to your edits on the page Southern Azerbaijan National Awakening Movement, you have been blocked from editing Wikipedia for a period of 1 week. You are welcome to edit once the block expires; however, please note that the repetition of similar behavior may result in a longer block or other sanctions.

If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}. If you intend to appeal on the arbitration enforcement noticeboard, I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily. You may also appeal directly to me (by email), before or instead of appealing on your talk page.

Reminder to administrators: In May 2014, ArbCom adopted the following procedure instructing administrators regarding Arbitration Enforcement blocks: "No administrator may modify a sanction placed by another administrator without: (1) the explicit prior affirmative consent of the enforcing administrator; or (2) prior affirmative agreement for the modification at (a) AE or (b) AN or (c) ARCA (see "Important notes" [in the procedure]). Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may at the discretion of the committee be desysopped."

Additionally, I would strongly encourage you to request a username change following the expiration of this block, as your current username is arguably a violation of username policy as a political slogan likely to ... cause disruption to productive Wikipedia processes or discussions, or make harmonious editing difficult or impossible to achieve; e.g. by ... referencing highly contentious events or controversies. signed, Rosguill talk 14:13, 17 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your cross-wiki activity edit

Stop it right now. Otherwise we'll be forced to request global locking for your account. Just because you don't understand their language doesn't mean you get to disrupt them out of the blue. - XXBlackburnXx (talk) 23:21, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Automated Arabic-script spelling on pages edit

Hello @Karabakhazerbaycandir,

It appears that you have modified multiple pages to add the Arabic-script Azerbaijani spelling. While this in and of itself is a good thing, the problem is that all of them are misspelled. In fact, they do not even follow the basic rules of writing Azerbaijani in the Arabic script, including vowels being preceded with an alif when word-initial, as well as vowel harmony being ignored in suffixes. For example, you have written oğlu as وْغلۇ. The correct form is اوغلی, starting with an alif to precede the vowel, and ending with -i, a suffix that does not change based on vowel harmony.

Additionally, there are severe typos. Take for example the page Mahammad Amin Rasulzade, in which the name "Alakbar" has been written as الإکبر by you. This in fact says al-'Ikbar, which is of course not his name. Alakbar is short for Ali-Akbar, and is written علی اکبر in the Arabic script. See Mirza Alakbar Sabir's Hophopname for example, wherein he writes his name in the aforementioned way.

To me it seems you are making use of some kind of automated transcription tool, which clearly does not produce a satisfactory result. If you wish to add a spelling in the Arabic script, please add the source from which it originates, such as is done in Elizavetpol uezd. Additionally, please append |script=Arab|italic=no after the text in the lang-az template, so that the Arabic-script text appears correctly.

Also note that the Arabic-script orthography of Azerbaijani has changed over time, and new letters (ۆ, یٛ) have been recently (since the 1980s) added to the script used in Iranian Azerbaijan today in order to more accurately represent the vowels of the language. Of course, these should not be used on historical articles for figures that were born before these letters were created.

If you are not familiar with the Arabic script and unable to follow its conventions, it would be better not to try adding text in it at all. Samiollah1357 (talk) 18:11, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
