Euthanasia

edit

Hi. You wrote me a nice note about the euthanasia article. I've been on a somewhat inadvertent wikibreak, unrelated to this article. Not sure when I can get back to it. Sorry. Take care, HG | Talk 05:15, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Euthanasia inquiry

edit

Hi Kangaru. The first sentence currently in the article is the size of a paragraph, but is one single sentence. I personally, believe that your sentence that you have provided is better than the current one. It is shorter, and the current sentence gives too much description of the term in the one opening sentence, and this description should be spread out equally in the opening paragraphs, and not in the one sentence. However, there is a separate article for animal euthanasia, so "terminating the life of a terminally ill person or animal" should become "terminating the life of a terminally ill person". You may wish to also shorten up the Greek etymology, and put it within a footnote, which can be placed at the bottom of the article along with references (see the Notes section on Charles Darwin, which has several of these inline notes).

Kind regards, Sebi [talk] 10:03, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Forgot something. The sentence "terminating the life of a terminally ill person" seems a bit... extraneous. Could we reword that sentence slightly? Sebi [talk] 10:04, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Discussion regarding Zachary Taylor

edit

From the history of the article on Zachary Taylor, you appear to be a notable contributor to it. As a result, I thought you might like to get involved in a discussion I have started on the talk page concerning a proposal to change the main picture in the infobox: [1] If you do get involved, thank you. Re: Ning Controversies

edit

Re your message: I had forgotten about that issue. I think you are correct that a consensus has not been achieved nor likely to with the editors involved. The issue could use some additional editors involved in the discussion to reach a consensus. You might try bringing up the issue again on the Neutral Point of View Noticeboard, though the original alert by Kollision is still there, or request a third opinion. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 19:49, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re your message: Yes, the discussion is indeed getting rather heated. There appears to be some undisclosed off-wiki history between the involved editors, though what that exactly is, I have no idea. Reverting and protecting the article to some previous state is not going to happen as that is not quite how the article should evolve. I still think that getting additional, uninvolved editors into the discussion would help matters. Right now, things are entirely between two editors and that just causes a deadlock. The WP:POVN notice doesn't seem to be attracting any attention, but perhaps a posting to one of the WikiProjects related to the article might draw some interest. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:30, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is not a newsletter

edit

This is just a tribute.

Anyway. You're getting this note because you've participated in discussion and/or asked for updates to either the Article Feedback Tool or Page Curation. This isn't about either of those things, I'm afraid ;p. We've recently started working on yet another project: Echo, a notifications system to augment the watchlist. There's not much information at the moment, because we're still working out the scope and the concepts, but if you're interested in further updates you can sign up here.

In addition, we'll be holding an office hours session at 21:00 UTC on Wednesday, 14 November in #wikimedia-office - hope to see you all there :). I appreciate it's an annoying time for non-Europeans: if you're interested in chatting about the project but can't make it, give me a shout and I can set up another session if there's enough interest in one particular timezone or a skype call if there isn't. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 11:32, 10 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
