Atomic force acoustic microscopy

edit

Hi Kalyanphanim. You seem to be having some trouble with your article Atomic force acoustic microscopy, and I'm posting here to see if you could use some help. If you'd like a hand, please leave a message at my talkpage.

Two things you should probably be aware of: firstly, blanking a page (removing all the content) when you created that page yourself is usually taken as a sign that you want the page deleted (see WP:G7). Secondly, your contributions might work better as a section of the article on Atomic force microscopy, although I don't know enough about the subject to make a judgement call on that.

You blank the page, don't do that.

Hi Kalyanphanim. When you post messages to other users talkpages, or to article talkpages, please add your message to the bottom of the edit box, not the top. Please also use four tildes (~~~~) to sign your messages. Yunshui  11:12, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

ok yunshui but please mention what is the problem in my article and why when i try to edit my mistakes whole page is gone please tell me im new to wiki. Kalyan Phani Makkuva (talk) 11:17, 21 February 2012 (UTC)

The page disappeared because you overwrote the text in the edit box with your message. When you open an edit screen, what you're seeing is the code that tells Wikipedia what to display on the page. If you delete it by overwriting a new message, then that new message is all you'll see. Instead, scroll down to the bottom of the box and add your text there.
You might find the tutorial worth a look; it takes you through editing step-by-step. Don't worry too much about making mistakes; Wikipedia is a steep learning curve and everyone struggles with the interface at first. You can't break the encyclopedia, and other editors will always turn up to fix any errors you make. Yunshui  11:26, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Picture suggestion

edit

Whilst I don't want to criticise your work, I'm not sure that File:Probing the Surface.png is ideal for illustrating the way the probe works. Would you object if I replaced it with File:Atomic force microscope block diagram.svg? That diagram appears to show the same information, to me, but I'd like you to check it over first.

Oh, and on a vaguely related note, you have some messages on your Commons talkpage regarding the other picture of the microscope; I didn't know if you'd seen them yet. Yunshui  11:37, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
