Query

What actually happens after moving a draft to mainspace? Suppose I created a draft titled Draft: Example. Now it is complete and I moved it to mainspace. What happens with draft page? Is it still on the servers? If it is, then why? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:29, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

It becomes a redirect to the mainspace page. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 10:33, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

You mean the history of draft page is completely deleted? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:40, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

No, you can still view it. See WP:REDIRECT for more info. I may be better at showing, than verbally telling this. But if you try to edit a redirect, you may have a chance to view the redirect's history. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 10:43, 2 April 2018 (UTC)

Okay, I got my answer. I think it is better to work on notepad rather than create new drafts here. Why create useless draft pages and increase server space. I thought moving drafts to mainspace moved complete history to the mainspace but no. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 03:25, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

No, history gets merged. Please ask further questions at WP:TEAHOUSE or WP:HELPDESK. But to avoid creating more drafts/articles, it would be better to edit in your sandbox. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 03:52, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

I won't create any drafts or sandboxes because I want to have as much less deleted edits as I can. Teahouse is a useless place, sometimes. No one answers. Thanks for your help. I will not bother you now. This was last. I will not mention you or write on talk page. I know you don't wanna get involved with a person like me. Ultimately, thanks! Orphaned non-free image File:Udhayan 2011.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Udhayan 2011.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:25, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Meera 1947 poster.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Meera 1947 poster.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 14:05, 6 April 2018 (UTC)

Ways to improve One of My Three Soups

Hi, I'm Boleyn. Kailash29792, thanks for creating One of My Three Soups!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please add your sources.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

WP:RX / Your question

Hi Kailash29792, regarding your question here: I'm afraid I can't supply more information on this one as I ordered your requested copies of Indian Films from another library. The same is, unfortunately, also true for the article on "Mr. Sampath" that I just sent you. At any rate, per ZDB-ID 197197-9, the publisher is Allied Publ. Since this is a yearbook of sorts, I'm also pretty sure the title is just "Indian films" - in the "Mr. Sampath" case the volume that covers the year 1972 (and which appeared in 1973), in the other one the volume covering 1977/1978 and which appeared in 1979. I usually try to make sure to request a scan of the title page as well (even though, alas, some libraries just ignore these ...), but have forgotten to do so this time. If you think the information is crucial, I could perhaps order a scan of these separately. Best, — Pajz (talk) 15:51, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Pajz, thank you for the pages. Now I think the "Bibliographic information" section here may provide me with sufficient details for both books. ----Kailash29792 (talk) 16:34, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Teen Patti

Hello Kailash29792. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Teen Patti, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not uncontroversial (and IMHO, non-policy-compliant).Initiate a request for move. Can you please respond to my previous messages? Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 19:55, 19 April 2018 (UTC)

I initially had no idea what you were talking about, but the responsibility of developing Gotham episode articles lies on Universe1609. I just create redirects, he converts them into proper articles. I don't understand why he's been so less active in that since Pieces of a Broken Mirror. --Kailash29792 (talk) 10:45, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

Invitation to WikiProject Portals

The Portals WikiProject has been rebooted.

You are invited to join, and participate in the effort to revitalize and improve the Portal system and all the portals in it.

There are sections on the WikiProject page dedicated to tasks (including WikiGnome tasks too), and areas on the talk page for discussing the improvement and automation of the various features of portals.

Many complaints have been lodged in the RfC to delete all portals, pointing out their various problems. They say that many portals are not maintained, or have fallen out of date, are useless, etc. Many of the !votes indicate that the editors who posted them simply don't believe in the potential of portals anymore.

It's time to change all that. Let's give them reasons to believe in portals, by revitalizing them.

The best response to a deletion nomination is to fix the page that was nominated. The further underway the effort is to improve portals by the time the RfC has run its course, the more of the reasons against portals will no longer apply. RfCs typically run 30 days. There are 19 days left in this one. Let's see how many portals we can update and improve before the RfC is closed, and beyond.

A healthy WikiProject dedicated to supporting and maintaining portals may be the strongest argument of all not to delete.

We may even surprise ourselves and exceed all expectations. Who knows what we will be able to accomplish in what may become the biggest Wikicollaboration in years.

Let's do this.

See ya at the WikiProject!

Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   10:22, 21 April 2018 (UTC)

Fixing redirects

Hi. Please don't change redirects to point to their target; see WP:NOTBROKEN. This includes changing "drama film" to "drama film". The original redirect is fine and doesn't need to be fixed. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 15:38, 8 May 2018 (UTC)

I agree with you on some conditions: a term like "Harrison Wells" redirects to a section within List of The Flash characters, but I still type Harrison Wells to keep up with WP:NOTBROKEN. Similarly, I type romantic drama and action comedy for the same reasons: they are section redirects. But I'll stop my "drama film" changing marathon for now. --Kailash29792 (talk) 15:49, 8 May 2018 (UTC)

Mahanati poster.jpg

Dear Kailash the poster I am going to keep on Mahanati is a Theatrical release poster from today's newspaper showing Neede Vidudala Today Release. It is also focusing the main character Keerthy Suresh with remaining all characters. I think it may be accepted. Regards Dr. Bhargava Teja.(B.Bhargava Teja (talk) 04:00, 9 May 2018 (UTC))

B.Bhargava Teja, do whatever you like. Just add a poster that says "Releasing today"or "From May 9", and includes Keerthy Suresh, since she is the titular Mahanati. --Kailash29792 (talk) 04:02, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
Also, don't upload posters that are smaller than 220px. I have uploaded the same poster in that resolution, please don't revert. Instead you may enhance it via Photoshop. --Kailash29792 (talk) 04:09, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:31, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Hi Kailash; I've added unreferenced-section to the 'Accolades' section of the article; no references are listed there. You probably could use some of the refs listed at List of accolades received by Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. This is the only problem that seems likely to cause the article's de-listing at GAR, though I could easily have missed something. Good luck with your planned reassessment. Cheers, Baffle gab1978 02:23, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

Thank you very much

The RfC discussion to eliminate portals was closed May 12, with the statement "There exists a strong consensus against deleting or even deprecating portals at this time." This was made possible because you and others came to the rescue. Thank you for speaking up.

By the way, the current issue of the Signpost features an article with interviews about the RfC and the Portals WikiProject.

I'd also like to let you know that the Portals WikiProject is working hard to make sure your support of portals was not in vain. Toward that end, we have been working diligently to innovate portals, while building, updating, upgrading, and maintaining them. The project has grown to 80 members so far, and has become a beehive of activity.

Our two main goals at this time are to automate portals (in terms of refreshing, rotating, and selecting content), and to develop a one-page model in order to make obsolete and eliminate most of the 150,000 subpages from the portal namespace by migrating their functions to the portal base pages, using technologies such as selective transclusion. Please feel free to join in on any of the many threads of development at the WikiProject's talk page, or just stop by to see how we are doing. If you have any questions about portals or portal development, that is the best place to ask them.

If you would like to keep abreast of developments on portals, keep in mind that the project's members receive updates on their talk pages. The updates are also posted here, for your convenience.

Again, we can't thank you enough for your support of portals, and we hope to make you proud of your decision. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   08:56, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

P.S.: if you reply to this message, please ping me. Thank you. -TT

It's not an American poster. The American poster has the American rating on it. — Film Fan 16:06, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

Film Fan, if this is the poster in question I don't know which country's poster it is. But I can say it is a teaser poster (not theatrical release poster) since it doesn't show a release date; just "November" and no billing block. Whereas the version I uploaded says "In Cinemas 18 November" and shows the complete billing block. Also, I'm not the one to start the trend of replacing American posters of British films with British posters; perhaps it was SchroCat who did so with the James Bond films. But his edits made sense, and I did the same for the Harry Potter films. But I'm confused as to how Fantastic Beasts qualifies as a "British-American" film since Heyday (a British company) is the only production studio mentioned here. --Kailash29792 (talk) 16:21, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
Not all theatrical posters have billing blocks. It only says November because it's an international poster, and started on different days in different countries. It's coproduced by Warner Bros. and Heyday. Frankly, British posters make more sense than US posters for these films, but international posters are the best fit. — Film Fan 16:26, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

Tadimalla

Hi Kailash, in this edit it looks like I undid this edit of yours. Did you remove her last name on purpose? I'm not quite clear on why you did that and her article doesn't clarify anything. I'm happy to revert my edit if there's something I'm missing. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:44, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

One reason is, the article name is simply Gautami, her WP:COMMONNAME. Although I honour WP:NOTBROKEN, there are select instances where I do so, like section redirects, or entirely different names. Kailash29792 (talk) 16:52, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Harrison Wells.jpg

A tag has been placed on File:Harrison Wells.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the Non-free fair use tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- AlexTW 11:44, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

Alex, you could have nominated it for deletion by clicking the xfd option. Besides, the image was originally used in the infobox since I didn't know which particular Wells image to use there, considering how many versions Tom Cavanagh has played, hence I went with a collage. --Kailash29792 (talk) 11:48, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
I could have, but that's Files for Deletion, not Speedy Deletion. I nominated it for Speedy Deletion; that was intentional, and hence, I clicked Speedy Deletion and not XFD. The file does not have the correct copyright - a Facebook page does not own the copyright to that image. The CW does. Can you list the exact sources for all separate images? -- AlexTW 11:51, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

FFD and PROD

Hi, I noticed that there has been a increase in nominations at WP:FFD that are essentially non-controversial. Have you considered using WP:PROD instead? It might be a more efficient way for some of those "unused, orphaned, clear copyvio, etc" nominations. Salavat (talk) 14:04, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

Sorry, I haven't tried it before. Let me see how it works the next time I see an image not worth existing here. --Kailash29792 (talk) 14:47, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

Tamil cast check

Hi Kailash, could I please trouble you to help with a quick favor? I was hoping you could look at the credits of this film and compare them to what this editor added. I'm concerned about this person's edits. I'm mostly interested in whether or not he deliberately added misinformation based on the cast list, i.e. fabricated or deliberately incorrect character names. The credits start at about 2:59:25. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:48, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

Cyphoidbomb I removed the link to the film as the video is quite obviously a copyright violation (and you should probably redact this revision too). You can email the link to Kailash Galobtter (pingó mió) 21:19, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

John Diggle

Greetings, Kailash, from Ooznoz.

I'd be glad to assist with your John Diggle page, once it's more fully realized. I do have a few suggestions for your draft, if I may.

Diggle is more of a supporting character, rather than a central antagonist like Thawne or one who is central to the main arc of the season like Harry Wells. So, breaking his storyline into seasons doesn't work as well. He also has three main relationships within the series: with Oliver, Lyla, and his brother Andy. These need to be related in any Diggle article and can be done, I believe, without veering into WP:NOR territory. My suggested outline would be:

Character

Storyline

Relationships: Oliver, Lyla, Andy

Costume

Other appearances

For inspiration, I suggest the Oliver Queen (Arrow) page for a general idea of what I'm proposing. Let me know what you think. :D

Ooznoz (talk) 15:22, 19 June 2018 (UTC)Ooznoz

Ooznoz, thanks for your suggestions. What I really need is more sources on character development, and reviews on Ramsey's performance. Also, someone must source and condense the "Storylines" section before the subsections in them can be merged. --Kailash29792 (talk) 16:29, 19 June 2018 (UTC)

Harrison Wells

  The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
For your hard work getting Harrison Wells finally ready for inclusion in the mainspace! Brojam (talk) 07:16, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

I used a season two image as you suggested, with Cavanagh doesn't look villainous as he did on season 1, with him holding a S.T.A.R. Labs coffee mug indicating his character works there, and the mug may get people to think he was portraying H.R.--NeoBatfreak 07:28, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

Thank you Brojam. It may not be GA-level good (I'm not aiming for that status until the Arrowverse dies), but at least worth being in the mainspace, and not mercilessly reverted to redirect status, without an AfD. I just hope someone will expand the "Concept and creation" section. And NeoBatfreak, it's obviously not HR since the image is from season 2 (as described in the caption) and HR was introduced only in season 3. --Kailash29792 (talk) 07:39, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

Regarding adding Harrison Wells to the Fictional characters introduced in 2015 list, I honestly have no opinion either way. If you believe it should be added, then by all means, do so. Ooznoz (talk) 17:29, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Ooznoz
