Origin of Karnataka's name - DYK comment

March 5th nominations had not yet expired. They are 5 days old today, so I moved the articles out of expired. As far as the Origin of Karnataka's name article ... if you were not coming to the page from the main Karnataka article, there would be no context.

It would be helpful if you would add something about Karnataka to the introduction.

DYK nomination

Thanks! You did a lot of fixing up of the article, so many thanks for that too! Is there anything I am supposed to do re the DYK nomination? Sincerely, --Mattisse 10:58, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! I have been looking for more material, but really the article is explaining the general concept. When I first started copy editing for Dinesh, I did not know what the word mean in the context in which he was using it. So, in a sense, I was writing it for myself! Sincerely, --Mattisse 17:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for nominating the above article for DYK, which was accepted. I didn't think the fact you selected stood out when I was writing the article. (It was also not great publicity for the LIRR and not really publicized outside of Newsday.) But you did, and it was an unusual event, when you think about it. Again, I appreciate your nomination. KNM, my friend. I think user:Bondkaka did a good job moving nominations to the Next Update. The problem here is that your article is competing with other articles that are just about to expire. Right now, there is a good balance of articles, so let's wait with your article till later in the day (Next update already includes an architecture based article, and two might just be one too many). Your comments on Chola Empire vs. Dynasty

Yes, there is a difference between Empire and Dynasty. An empire has territories beyond its borders and beyond the seas. The Cholas had territories beyond their borders as far as Maldives, Sri Lanka, Eastern India, Malaysia, Java, and Sumatra. Therefore it is an empire. Wiki Raja 21:26, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Reply: Chola Dynasty - Chola Empire

Your explanation is not making sense. Can you provide me a more expanation to this instead of making rash statements? Reading your exclamatory message makes it sound like it is the end of the world. Calm down. It is not like the whole of India is crumbling down, like the london bridge. Wiki Raja 01:55, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

The Dove

Thanks so much for the nomination for my article The Dove. I'm an old dude and I saw the film three times when it was released. I even dragged my then girlfriend to see it. It's appreciated. I also got a chance to meet Mr. Peck back in 1992 but did not know he had produced The Dove at the time. I kicked myself when I was editing the article because I could have said something to Mr. Peck. Best wishes-- Luigibob 14:18, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi, just to say thanks for nominating the Malcolm Grant article for DYK. To help support the fact; I have just located and added a source for the moustache shaving (UCL news). Thanks again, hope it makes it! LordHarris 17:22, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Phani Sarma

Hey thanks. I also created Phani Sarma but admittedly it needs some copy editing. If it can be rephrased then maybe it will qualify. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 19:43, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

I couldn't find a fact either!! I create so many articles I tend to forget what I have done although I have t reduce my editing time now for other committments! How about I imrpove Rentun Ruusu or Zhuangzi Tests His Wife or something? The latter was the first CHinese feature film I think but it may need copy editing referencing etc ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 20:00, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Zhuangzi Tests His Wife

Zhuangzi Tests His Wife is the first ever Hong Kong feature and the firt ever CHinese film to be shown abroad. THis would be a good one I think but it needs a bit of work ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 20:04, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

OK. There are some really cool early films that I will be srarting alos. I am just working on a new one by Georges Meleis an 1899 film on Bluebeard!!! I have a pretty sound knowledge of film and am glad to contribute to the project! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 20:13, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much for the referencing. Great! When I have some time I am going to create a monster of a new article. There are many missing film from the 1920s starring those iconic where there is stacks of info and I am going to set myself a challenge soon to show what I can do. I devleoped The Temptress a while back from a one line stub that someone left but didn't propse it fro a DYK!! I may be starting another Great Garbo film like this soon. Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 20:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Also I am glad to see you have noticed the great work of my collaborator on Argentine films, Luigi Bob who just created the american picture The Dove. Much obliged for you interest in our film work. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 20:53, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Just to let you know that I have started Torrent (1926 film) which is in the pipeline. interesting fact is that is was Greta Garbo's first American film with MGM. I still need to rewrite synopsis a little to avoid copywright issues and add little more detail but it is a good start. Hope you like it ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:25, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
