Vandalism - Mr. Krabs edit

Mr. Krabs, I am afraid there was no vandalism on my part, as I was the original poster. I wasn't trying to make it sound like an ad, but with all the research taken out, there is nothing left but a paragraph. I thought the idea of an encyclopedia was to give you as much information as possible. Also, the controversy section clearly shows that this is not an ad. I would appreciate it if you could contact me with your concerns first before editing my work. If you have any input, I would happy to hear it and take it into consideration.

Neuro Emotional Technique edit

The real problem is that it comes across both as an ad and as original research. It's primarily a matter of balance: the discussion of the "seven pillars" is enormous, and presents some pretty major assertions (like The limbic or mammalian brain governs emotions, altruism, religious tendencies, sexuality intertwined with emotions, complex sensations and perception, short-term memory, and the storage of short-term memory into longer term memory, hormones, temperature control, and aggressive behavior. The mammalian brain has a “timeless” nature, with no separation of today, tomorrow, or yesterday. As a consequence, the limbic brain is thought to play a significant role in generating and maintaining inappropriate emotional patterns of response, given that it is involved in the recreation of early life experiences that may be shaping present emotional experiencing.) as statements of fact, even though there is no scientific consensus supporting it. At the end of the article under Controversy, it is finally revealed that there is no real scientific basis for the entire concept, but even the controversy section devotes half of its word-count to a self-serving rebuttal from the O.N.E. Research Foundation.

The stub version avoids these problems by not going into such detail. If you choose to re-expand, the article needs to emphasize from the beginning that the topic is unsupported by science and should not be considered a valid medical treatment. Descriptions of internal concepts like the seven pillars need to be clearly framed as the beliefs of NET practitioners as opposed to factual.—Kww(talk) 17:38, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
