July 2010 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Guglielmo Marconi, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. The reverted edit can be found here. Thank you. Whisky drinker | HJ's sock 19:51, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for spamming or advertising. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

I have been blocked for spamming/advertising, but I am not doing that at all...simply trying to provide some links to some good data on the IEEE Global History Network. Please advise.KAWiggins (talk) 9:03 pm, Today (UTC+1)

Decline reason:

You were blocked because your account has been used only for indiscriminately adding spam links to various article linking to the same website. Whisky drinker | HJ's sock 20:09, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I apologize if I am missing the point. Yes, the pages I am linking to are all hosted on the same site, but they hold good, solid, historical data. I am not trying to advertise...I am truly trying to provide further information on the topics.

Decline reason:

If you're only here to add links to your web site, you're in violation of the rules, regardless of the merits of the site. If you're interested in making the encyclopedia better, the best way to do that is to improve the content of articles, and cite the best available sources verifying your changes. In general, you want to avoid linking to your own web site. FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 20:19, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I have read "the rules" about posting external links and I do not feel that I am in violation of them. This is not "my site" and I certainly do not expect to gain anything by these posts. This is a very inhospitable welcome to Wikipedia. Please provide further detailed directions. I feel that I am providing "neutral and accurate material that is relevant to an encyclopedic understanding of the subject" but it cannot be uploaded directly to Wikipedia because of the ownership of the archival documents to which I am linking.KAWiggins (talk) 20:34, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Considering that your unblock states that not only do you not understand the reason for your block, but that you intend to continue the behavior that led to your block, there is no reason to unblock you. Even if you do not own the site, the only edits you have made have been to link to that site. Wikipedia is not a repository of links. Smashvilletalk 21:43, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
