removing comments from talk pages edit

It's not OK to remove comments from a Talk page, such as what you did recently at Talk:Kidnapped_(TV_series).

See Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines#Behavior_that_is_unacceptable.

There is a method, for a specific set of circumstances, where larger or older discussions can be archived: Wikipedia:How_to_archive_a_talk_page, but it's clear the above instance doesn't apply, regardless. x 17:46, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your response about Talk:Kidnapped_(TV_series). I looked at the redundancy you mentioned and indeed found that the comment was entered twice. However, someone else had posted unique replies. So I consolidated all that. Granted, adding comments to a Talk page may not normally require an edit summary, but if you're removing something from a Talk page (something that normally shouldn't be done), an edit summary might be especially prudent. Thanks again. x 09:59, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

You're lost on the Chaldean issue. edit

Chaldeans are Assyrians. I am Chaldean and know that. I was born in Baghdad and live in Michigan now. Only Telkeffees doubt their Assyrianess and the ironic thing is their village is just outside of ancient Nineveh. Go figure. user:Sargonious

3RR edit

Kalmani, you reported another user for 3RR at Chaldean, but you seem to have violated it yourself on the same page, so I've blocked both of you for 24 hours. Please use the time to review the 3RR policy. Many thanks, SlimVirgin (talk) 00:35, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Shlama edit

Kalmani, dont let them get to your nerves about the Chaldean issue, they know that we are right but they just dont want to admitt and they bring sources that my little daughter eight years old could have made up and put on the internet.

Sooner or later they must admitt to the truth.

Your note edit

Kalmani, thanks for your note. I'm afraid I can't adopt you as I just don't have the time; otherwise it would have been a pleasure. :-) As for your Chaldean problems, what you see is to find a reliable source that supports what you're saying, and preferably several. The more authoritative the source the better: academics and mainstream newspapers are the best. See WP:A for details of our policy on sourcing. Cheers, SlimVirgin (talk) 19:40, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You left a note for me, too, about adoption. I do have time to adopt you and assist you with any general issues. However, I am not an expert about Chaldeans, and, as SlimVirgin, i have to advise you to find reliable sources for the information that you want to insert. If you have reliable sources and still have problems, please contact me for more help. --Amir E. Aharoni (talk) 14:04, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thanks for your note, and sorry to take so long to respond. I have started several times to try to unpick the details of your problems, but every time I get interrupted by real-life concerns. I have recently come to the conclusion that I am barely able to spend the time I ought on my existing adoptees at present, so I must regretfully decline your request for adoption. You'll see that I have changed my status on the adopters page. If you're still having problems, might I suggest some of the options at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution? You are more likely to find third parties sympathetic to your position if you can cling to two concepts: focus on the content; and do not respond to incivility in kind. I hope this helps. Response to "Chaldeans are different than Assyrians" edit

Kalmani, you are very wrong in ur statement, and i will disporve everything you have just said in a matter of 2 minutes. You said we have different religions but we share christianity so we dont have different religions we just have different sects of the same religion. But ill give that to you, Chaldeans are Catholics we are CHurch of the East. That does not mean we are different peoples!! Look at Germans, there are protestant Germans and Catholic Germans, yet they all call themselves Germans, the Protestants dont start a new name just because they are a different sect! (P.S. dont call Assyrians Eastern Orthadox cause we are not, learn about us before you make assumptions like that). Also you said the Language is different!!! NO ITS NOT! We speak the same language just different dialects! and its not a "chaldean" thing its a tribal thing, I am Baz and i speak different Dialect than Tyari etc. Just like Mangeshnaye speak a different form of Aramaic than the rest! The Baz are no different than Tyari just cause they ahve a different dialect, just like Mangeshnaye are no different. Also there are some "Chaldeans" who do not share the "Chaldean Language" mainly Comnaye, and some Baz are also chalean, does that make them lingusitcally Assyrian or Chaldean??? Its like Arabic...there are different dialects, Egyptian sounds different than Iraqi but it is still all Arabic!! You also said that Chaldeans are from alqosh etc.... living in different areas does not make us different people....I mean back to Germans, just cause they live in South Germany that doesnt make them different people than the Germans that live in North Germany!! and you finally said how come Jordanians dont call themselves Iraqi etc. I must say that is the weakest argument i have heard in my life, and that helps us Assyrians prove our points. Althgouh they dont call themselves Iraqi, they still call themselves Arabs, just as Iraqis do...they are the same people, but just live in different countries...that doesnt make them different people. tehre are assyrians in Syria, Iran Iraq and Turkey, yet they are all Assyrians, just like Arabs from Jordan and Iraq are still Arabs!! Please try again...I have never lost an argument against a Chaldean Separtist to this day :D Malik Danno (talk) 19:38, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

How come? You talk such nonsense so that they just ignore you and walkaway, and that makes you believe you have "won" an argument? Is that it? The TriZ (talk) 19:49, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well they usually start out wanting a debate to prove their point, however after each one of their points is proved wrong they become infuriated. They start running out of points so their main response becomes "I'm 100% Chaldean nothing else!!" or others like that. They are unable to continue the debate. To me that shows that they have lost their credability in the debate. Mind you that i have had some success in convincing some "chaldeans" that they are infact assyrians, they in the end admit that they were wrong and say that they are really assyrians by ethnicity and chaldean cathoics by religion. OO yea and another tactic that the losing chaldeans do is totally change the subject....sort of what you did here, you totaly ignored the entire paragraph above and only replied to the last sentence, i dont care for that, if you want to reply to my post again, then post about the topic at hand...or else dont waste my time.
