How you can help

Hi, "JumpBuckyJump". Thanks for your good work on old pop songs and related subjects! I have a suggestion. Have you checked out Wikimedia Commons? When you upload old public domain sheet music covers, I suggest you upload them to Commons. The images can be used in Wikipedia articles exactly like if they were directly uploaded here-- and in addition they can be used in other Wikimedia projects, and appear in categories (eg, "Music in 1910"). Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Best wishes, -- Infrogmation (talk) 17:31, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Another good reason to start uploading such things directly to Commmons is avoiding duplicating effort. For example Image:Chinatowncover.jpg already existed on Commons in the category linked above before you uploaded a copy of the same sheet music cover locally. Dig? Cheers, -- Infrogmation (talk) 03:48, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm curious-- Where did get the images you uploaded to this site form? Why isn't there an obvious reference to there source? I suspect you didn't create the images you uploaded from scratch. Isn't it common courtesy to indicate the source of something you didn't create yourself? Haven't we established laws here to ensure people have access to that kind of information?
:-( WHAT IS UP WITH THAT?

File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Yellow-Dog-Blues-1919.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Closedmouth (talk) 15:03, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
