Speedy deletion nomination of BURO edit

Hello Juliantaf03,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged BURO for deletion, because it seems to be a test. Did you know that the Wikipedia Sandbox is available for testing out edits?

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

  • Hello! As highlighted in the above automatically generated text, you can use the sandbox to test edits. If you would like to work on a draft of an article you intend to later publish, try using THIS SANDBOX. It is your personal sandbox and it won't be deleted (unless you violate copyright, use it for personal attacks...or other things I wouldn't expect you to do). If you have any questions, just ask. Me, or a different, more intelligent member of WP. Thanks. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 21:10, 21 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

September 2017 edit

Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses. Wikipedia is not a trade directory. If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets. Thank you. — fortunavelut luna 16:56, 5 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am not promoting a business. I am creating awareness of a business just like companies like Airbnb. For which this is the source that the article has been modeled. Everything stated in the article is verifiable and references are being incorporated. This is absurd how you are prohibiting me to make valuable additions, especially when all other articles are written in this format.

I there is a mis-understanding, I have read the terms of posting onto Wiki and I am with in all guidlines of not creating spam content.

No, you're not. We don't permit promotional language, and articles are not to be a "profile". They should cover only facts verified by reliable sources, and should do so in a manner that is neutral in both tone and content. We would never, for example, have an unreferenced section entitled "Benefits" that talks up the company or product, and that's only one of many examples of problems with promotional language and PR speak/marketese. And yes, there is a misunderstanding. Wikipedia does not exist to "create awareness" of businesses and using it to do so is contrary to its purpose. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:36, 5 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

If I am not mistaken Airbnb has a similar section and its intentiona are quite clear. Have a look for yourself. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbnb

You're right, it did. It doesn't now. I wouldn't use that article as a template, it's rather a mess. Regardless, it exists elsewhere doesn't mean something's acceptable, it just means no one noticed yet. Now that you brought it to someone's attention, it's gone. But regardless, that was one of many examples of problems. The whole thing looked like a PR brochure, and we don't allow that. That will not change. Promotional material gets deleted, and editors who repeatedly attempt to insert it get blocked from editing. Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:42, 5 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
