Speedy deletion of Iron Dragon (band) edit

A tag has been placed on Iron Dragon (band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Re: Iron Dragon edit

The reason your band's page is nominated for deletion is because it doesn't specify a cited reason why your band is notable or significant - imagine how many bands there are just like yours in the entire world.

From Wikipedia's "inclusion guidelines" (basically what goes in and what doesn't):

"A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria: Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable"

Has your band been the subject of multiple published works (well-recognised newspapers, books, etc.) that are independent of your band? I doubt it.

"Has had a charted single or album on any national music chart." / "Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country."

I doubt this somehow.

And so on...you can see the list here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(music)

When you fulfil one or more of these criteria feel free to enter your band, but until then you'll just have to keep practicing! Good luck! LGF1992UK (talk) 22:49, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, but if you read the criteria, winning a small local or regional competition is not a criteria for inclusion, nor is your number of members. Look at So Solid Crew. Wikipedia is not a place to advertise your band or make biased statements (see WP:NOT). LGF1992UK (talk) 22:54, 2 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
