Managing a conflict of interest

Speedy deletion nomination of Radiation Research Society

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Radiation Research Society for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

  Thank you for your interest in creating an article for Radiation Research Society on Wikipedia. There are multiple problems with your submission. You cannot post copyrighted material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. In short, a copyright owner cannot offer Wikipedia a one-time license for use. Rather, the copyright to the material has to be released – permanently and irrevocably – into the public domain or under a free copyright license that is compatible with Wikipedia's licenses. This is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, so all content must be licensed for that purpose. You can learn more about this policy at Wikipedia:Copyrights.

The second problem is conflict of interest. Writing an article about your own organization or that of a client is strongly discouraged, as it is difficult to maintain the required neutral point of view.

If you'd like to use the copyrighted content in an article, you can follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission on how to obtain the proper licensing. If you are the copyright holder, refer to Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for how to grant us permission to use your content. My apologies, I am just learning the how to navigate within the Wiki system. Judy

For starters, if you've already got a section header reply under the header with parenthesis or with stars (press and hold shift and then press the number 8) to indent, that shows the replies and the replies to the replies and so forth in that manner. It is much easier on admin eyes (and admin sanity) to track discussions in this way because it allows us to follow things with greater ease. Now, on to more pressing matters:
  • Your article's copyvio csd tag has been removed on grounds that the website its borrowing content from has no explicit copyright tag out for the public viewing, which means that speedy deletion for copyright violation is presently unjustifiable. That being said, there is no reason why another, more relevant speedy deletion tag can't be added to the article for administrator consideration.
  • The afd opened for the article is another though, that is beyond my ability to close and the issues there need to be addressed if you want the article to stay - and from where I sit that's gonna be a long shot at best because the article looks like it needs help. A lot of it. If you want the article here you're gonna need to find third party sources and add them to the article, then give use a good rewrite so we can see why the article should be kept.
  • Lastly, if you are in any way, shape, or form associated with this group then you need to cough that up right now - and I do mean right now. Conflict of Interest-based editors are subject to certain restrictions and are required to make a declaration of their conflict on the user pages or talk pages for community consideration, and failure to do so at this point will result in your being blocked/banned down the road. This is your one and only chance to get ahead of it before it comes back to haunt you, so make it count.
