Île-de-France (sheep) edit

Hi there! I've temporarily deleted Île-de-France (sheep), as it is a bit too short. In the meantime, I've added a short note to Île-de-France (disambiguation); if you get a chance, perhaps you could expand on the article once more? --HappyCamper 18:26, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't really have enouh to add. I had hoped that someone with more info would improve it. As a shepherd, I know that the "IDF" as it is called is being used in a lot of cross breeding here in the USA, and with the breed name showing up in the mainstream press, I wanted reporters to have access to at least a little info. Blackstone Valley Trail ?? edit

Hi! Started a talk page here Talk:Blackstone_Valley_Rail with a question for you, since you created the page. :) -- RayBirks 07:43, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It is an interesting question. I think that it is officially a bike trail but is often listed as a rail tril. IMO, true rail trails replace abandoned rails. In this case the trail is next to but does not replace the P&W Railroad.Jtmilesmmr 19:56, 26 July 2007 (UTC) Others have redone (and moved) the page. GREAT JOB!!!Jtmilesmmr (talk) 00:04, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Meek (taxonomy) edit

A tag has been placed on Meek (taxonomy), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Robert K. Hall (National Guard Officer) edit

A little help please. You undid my link for Robert Hall in the Battle for Henderson Field, because it pointed to the wrong Robert Hall. You are right. I was trying to fix it, without success. If you have the skills, please redo the link to point to Robert K. Hall (National Guard Officer). Find it under Robert Hall (disambiguation). Best Regards!! Todd —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jtmilesmmr (talkcontribs) 18:21, 16 July 2008 (UTC) Update: My Robert K. Hall page has been deleted anyway, I guess it is not to be. Thanks anyway!!! Todd Jtmilesmmr (talk) 19:14, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I didn't know that that page existed. Sorry for not helping with it. I wish I could have participated in the deletion discussion, because I might could have helped it not be deleted. Cla68 (talk) 23:16, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Robert K. Hall (National Guard Officer) has been put back. I'd appreciate it if you could re do the link from the Battle for Henderson Field article to point to the right Robert Hall. It would also be great if you could improve on the rather short story I put together. I can't even find birth/death dates, or confirm that he was one of the very few soldiers to be awarded the Navy Cross for WWII service. Thanks! Jtmilesmmr (talk) 11:53, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I worked on the article [1]. I don't think it will be a candidate for deletion now. I would suggest putting the references in the correct format (see the Battle for Henderson Field as an example) and adding some inline citations. Otherwise, I think it's a fine start. Good work. Cla68 (talk) 21:03, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. You did a better job than I could. I'm trying to verify some facts, but untill I have useful stuff to add (like birth/death info, and poss Navy Cross) I don't plan to add any more.Jtmilesmmr (talk) 17:24, 21 July 2008 (UTC) I have information on Lt Col Robert K. Hall that I would like added to the page Robert K. Hall (National Guard Officer) I will try to add some things in the near future such as photos of Robert and Navy Cross citation.Atlee19 (talk) 01:49, 7 September 2008 (UTC)ThanksJtmilesmmr (talk) 19:12, 8 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

IDF Caterpillar D9‎ edit

Greetings Jtmilesmmr, I undid your recent edit to the IDF Caterpillar D9‎ page because it does not seem to point to the IDF sending the D9 to Iraq. It appears that the only commonality is that both countries use that particular piece of equipment. Perhaps your information would be better suited on either the coalition forces in Iraq page, the US Army page or even the Bulldozer page. Cheers!! - 4twenty42o (talk) 16:50, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps in a broader perspective, such as a history book, your information would be ideal. But I do not see how the history of such a minor piece of equipment helps an encyclopedia. The general history of certain noteworthy topics such as the A-4 and various combat histories while in use by various world powers is most certainly noteworthy. A bulldozer IMO is not however. - 4twenty42o (talk) 15:32, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Soldier (novel) edit

The article The Soldier (novel) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Absence of secondary sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
