Hello, Jsullivan3290, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Image copyrights

edit

Hi! I wanted to leave you a note about the image you uploaded for Collier Young. Unfortunately the image you uploaded does not meet the copyright guidelines on Wikimedia Commons because it was not released under a compatible copyright. Almost all media uploaded online will have a copyright that would not be suitable for Wikipedia and as such, should not be added to Wikimedia Commons. Sometimes in the case of book covers we can upload them on Wikipedia itself under fair use guidelines, but pictures of people almost never fall under this guideline. As such, the image you added to the Commons will have to be deleted because it is considered to be a copyright violation.

While this wasn't part of your required training, I would like you to go over the training module on adding images and media before adding more images to Wikipedia. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 13:50, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
