Architecture

Hi Jonathan! Please don't reduce lead pics to thumbnail size. Everything else in that article has been kept to thumbnail, and for the most part selected so as to be clear at that size. However, the lead pic of Florence cathedral has been enlarged for visual clarity, for comparison between the external view and the plan, and in order to support a number of lines of explanatory text. Please note that previous versions of Dubai Museum were not copyright violations. Would it not have been better to role back to the last version without copyright problems? Museum

If you look at the page that it appears to be copied from, that is the more robust one -- with further specific info such as hours, contact info, etc. And the style in both is not the encyclopedic tone, but that used by advert-like sites. If you ask the deleting nom to userfy it for you, I'm sure he/she will be happy to do so, and you can restore a non-copyvio version. Or you can start from scratch and create a non-copyvio version. I disagree apart from the opening time details, WeKnowDubai Dubai Museum page copies the Wikipedia page in encyclopaedic style, even with the same photograph from Wikimedia Commons. I see the Dubai Museum Wikipedia page has been restored so I guess someone else does too. If you look at the revision history of the Dubai Museum Wikipedia page, the information was built up over several days by Orionist in May 2010. A copyvio would normally be a single cut-and-paste with little evidence of original work as there is here. I would suggest that you should do more research on the revision history of a Wikipedia page before suggesting copyvio in future. You know that there is already a category for locating museums in a particular area? For the Transport Museum, there is: Category:Museums in Westminster. Judging from thediscussion on this category, the category was kept because it would hold places that are museums, such as Museumsquartier, Metropolitan Zoological Park and Museum District,Museum District, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, etc, not that it would duplicate existing museum location categories. First ever Oxford Wiki Meetup

You are invited to the first ever Oxford Wiki Meetup which will take place at The Four Candles, 51 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2BE on Sunday 4 November 2012 from 1.00 pm.

I hope as many people as possible will be able to attend so that we can make this a regular event.
