Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Your updates

edit

Your addition of new and relevant material to the article is much appreciated. As a close relative of the subject of the article, you are in a unique position to know and locate notable and verifiable information.

However, you should take note that Wikipedia relies heavily on secondary sources, rather than on primary sources of information. You can get some temporary forbearance, as a new editor, but are expected to eventually follow the same rules as other contributors. Please try to find reliable secondary sources, and add them as references. See Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, Wikipedia:Verifiability, and Wikipedia:Suggested sources for guidelines on acceptable sources, and where to start.

There's a lot to learn about Wikipedia editing. Focus on getting notable, verifiable, neutral, factual information into the article. I and other editors can help you clean up your contributions as needed, but your unique knowledge is much valued. Best wishes, Reify-tech (talk) 16:49, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Joyce Chen's cookbook is listed with two different titles in the article. If you have access to a copy, could you fill in the correct bibliographic details?

Also, don't worry about footnoting the introduction to the article, if the facts mentioned there are covered later in more detail. The intro is just supposed to be a summary and overview of the entire article. Reify-tech (talk) 17:08, 31 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Joyce Chen, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. RegistryKey (talk) 23:59, 30 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Joyce Chen's Son - Stephen Chen. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Joyce Chen, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 02:00, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please comply with Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines, as described extensively in the messages above. If you cannot restrain your editing to a neutral point of view, you risk being banned from editing, temporarily or permanently. The factual, referenced new information you added is appreciated, but your deletion of information that was less than adulatory is not tolerated. Removing the Template:COI from the article is not viewed as benign; do not repeat this serious mistake. Reify-tech (talk) 06:36, 1 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
