Bluecut Fire in the new

Heyo! I wanted to let you know that I nominated Bluecut Fire to be features "In the news". Since you contributed to the article I thought you might want to voice your opinion on whether or not you think it should be featured. You can do so here: In the news candidates. Thanks!! --Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 16:40, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Copyright question at AfC help desk

An editor is asking about a copyvio template you put on their draft at the AfC help desk. Would you mind explaining to them what the template means and what to do about it? That template is rather impenetrable for inexperienced editors (even I have no idea what to do in this situation.) Joe Roe (talk) 17:12, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Care to explain what exactly you're doing with this edit? Volunteer Marek (talk) 16:11, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

@Volunteer Marek: That is really unfortunate. The tool Checklinks, while also tagging dead links, tried to do general clean-ups. In this case it tried to replace a direct link to a section of an article to a "R to section" (A redirect from a topic that does not have its own page to a section of a page on the subject). At the time of this edit at least, that link which I inserted was a redirect to that section which was linked to previously. The reason for doing this is that sections may be renamed or split from articles, at which point redirects may be changed, but direct links from other articles in most cases does not. I did not actually notice this genral fix but when I was notified of it within hours of doing it, I turned off general fixes in Checklinks for myself. (sorry for typos. Currently sick in bed.)
