Schools Plus edit

Hi Joss, and welcome to Wikipedia! You wrote:

I'm considering making some edits to the Wiki page on Schools Plus, and am interested in your advice about the best way to do this, as I work at the Ministry of Education. I'd like to add more details about components of the programme, correct a couple of minor inaccuracies, and include links to some of the positive comments about Schools Plus. My initial thought is to put my changes in the discussion thread first, with full disclosure of my role, but if you have any suggestions I'd appreciate them.

Given your connection with the Ministry, announcing that connection and putting suggestions on the talk page is a good move - it reduces any claims of conflict of interest. I would also suggest adding a link to tell people what you've done at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Schools and Wikipedia talk:New Zealand Wikipedians' notice board, and asking people there to vet any changes or suggest any more possible improvements - that way it may generate a bit more attention from people involved in working with articles on New Zealand schools. Hope that helps, Grutness...wha? 22:32, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
