External links edit

Hi Joseph, please stop including a template into every external link you come across. If you check out the references template, you will notice that "(in XYZ)" written at the end (where XYZ is the name of the foreign language) is the way you indicate a link written in a different language. In addition, you don't have to specify anything when they are written in English. Cheers, All-Bran 07:10, 1 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

deletion in Jose Rizal edit

Wikipedia recommends that the instructions on how to generate references on Notes section always precedes ==Notes==. It is Wikipedia's standard operating procedure. So please DO NOT delete that notice. thanks. -KaElin 17:12, 22 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Carlos P. Garcia edit

Your edit is not minor! The flag of Bohol was placed there to show how President CPG is featured in the flag as a lone star! I will appreciate it if next time, any deletions you make or edits are more properly described in the Summary with reason for deletion...Thank you! The flag of Bohol will stay in the article! --Pinay06 (TalkEmail) 17:56, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please note that flags are symbols and in Wikipedia, they are not thumbed! Look at articles with flags of the Philippines, U.S. ,etc. Besides, if you click on the flag, it will tell you what the flag is. Also, the text beside the flag, was a discussion of CPG being represented in the flag, if you had cared to read it. So, it will be redundant. Well, the point here really is, next time you make an edit, make sure you document it fully in the edit summary.--Pinay06 (TalkEmail) 00:17, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

1999 Season edit

Hi Joe, how do you celebrate Christmas there when you have summber, what's temperature? Can you send me code, to make talk page in this color or any color? Anyways, how is nba there, popular, do you have any players?

Look... this needs changing, this is the best version... http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=1998-99_NBA_season&diff=62486330&oldid=62469712 AS you can see, lots of info from current version is missing.

Once somebody becomes administrator, how long do they last, do they have to do something once a day?

various edit

1. Why do you think that the North American (maybe Australian, though I thought not) date ordering should be imposed on an article that didn't already use it?

2. There's in any case no point changing the order of date and month within a wikilink; the whole point of linking dates is that every reader sees them odered according to her own preference.

3.

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thanks, and happy editing.

Please use edit summaries edit

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:06, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:Josephbot edit

I have blocked the account User:Josephbot, which you created, as it uses the term "bot" which is reserved for actual Wikipedia bots and I cannot find a bot request. If I missed it or if you simply created the account before doing the request, please let me know and I'll unblock it. Also, if you intend to have a bot, you should create a user page for that account that identifies it and that you run it (see User:Cydebot or Category:Wikipedia bots for examples). Image:G hubie i.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:G hubie i.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof 13:22, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Nay1.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Nay1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

Bill Russell edit

I noticed that you are a member of Wikiproject:National Basketball Association. I'd like to ask a favor of you: Bill Russell's article is a Featured Article Candidate and I'm worried that it may not pass merely because there are not enough reviewers looking it over. Would you mind looking it over and seeing if you feel it meets the criteria. If you have never done so before all you have to do is look over the criteria and see if it meets them. You can pass, fail, or stay neutral. Don't worry if you don't like anything in the article you can state so and usually people will work to improve it. Here is the candidacy page. Thanks in advance.
