Calderon edit

Please, you live in Australia so I think you are not well informed. I am not with any party or with any religion. The polical campaing via the TV is full of lies. You know what did the Nazis don´t you? I will tell you. If you tell a lie to many times it will become the truth. This is what the Nazis did and Calderon and the PAN is doing this via TV, I´d like you could see at least one spot of him. Regards User:Juanlopez

Thank you very much for correcting my user page User:Juanlopez.

Hello Joseph. If possible, I'd like your support in including one sentence in the AMLO entry regarding the number of Mexicans who believe that fraud took place in the election. I sourced the poll twice, and it was deleted. Moreover, the person who deleted it believed it was not pertinent. I clearly disagree, as is the high number of Mexicans who believe fraud took place before and during the election that has given rise to the 42% figure. I'd appreciate your assistance. 69.211.18.106 01:22, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Infoboxes on AU Prime Ministers' articles edit

Hi there Australia boy. I note that you've taken to adding a "Religion" section to the infoboxes on several of the Australian PMs' articles. While their particular religion may in some instances have some bearing on their public life, simply labelling them as 'Roman Catholic', 'Anglican', or whatever in this way is probably not too informative. Indeed, in many instances a PM's religious beliefs (insofar as they are publicly known) will be difficult to summarise by a one- or two-word expression. By all means, if an individual's religous affiliation has been of significance to their achievements, then it can be appropriately mentioned and discussed in the main body of the article itself. After some discussion at the Australian Wikipedians' Notice Board, consensus seems to favour its removal, and I've started to revert these changes. If you have another opinion on the matter, you are invited to discuss it further over here. Kind regards, --cjllw | TALK 04:04, 21 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

List of administrators edit

Greetings! I've removed your name from the list of administrators. If you'd like to become a Wikipedia admin, you must first request it at the requests page, usually after you've been around for a few months. However, you don't have to be an admin to do things like reverting vandalism, cleaning up articles, and helping write policy: see the community portal for some ideas for tasks that need doing. Thanks, Mindspillage (spill yours?) 17:22, 26 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've removed it again. Please do not add it again without producing evidence that you are an administrator. If you really are one, could you protect my user page to prove it? Then I'll put your name back in. But at the moment, nobody seems to believe that you are one, and there's no record in the logs of any administrator acts carried out by you. Cheers. Pointless Edits edit

Hi, could you please explain why you changed the order of the two religions in the Canberra article? If you are attempting to present your "Point of View" by manipulating mentions of religions, please be aware that this is highly against wikipedia policy. --Martyman-(talk) 08:48, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Even though your argument is true, it is still a pointless edit. The only reason I can see behind it being some petty desire of yours to see your religion listed first. There could be equally convincing arguments made for listing them the other way around. Please try to avoid making edits that can be construed as you pushing your religion while failing to be at all benificial to the article in question. --Martyman-(talk) 09:59, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Ang Dating Daan edit

Hi. I added the two critical links again. The article Ang Dating Daan is not an advertising for the religion, but should be merely information about the religion, which includes also comments critically about the religion. Hence, these critical links are also needed for the article. For your info: I am not for or against this religion, and do not care about it except for the Wikipedia article having a WP:NPOV. Thanks for your understanding -- Chris 73 | Talk 10:35, 29 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I changed the license tag myself. This image cannot be GFDL because you're not the author and the author has not licensed it as such. There is no evidence this image is in the public domain either. I also make a point in noting that you made edits after my previous message and you still did not change the tag as requested. Happy editing. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 20:12, 14 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Photographs of Mexican politicians edit

I had a look at your contributions list and I noticed that you uploaded a number of photographs of Mexican politicians. These suffer of the same problem as the Lázaro Cárdenas picture above, i.e. they lack a source but you still claim them to be released under the GFDL. The offending images are:

Please state a source for each image in their description page and tag them with {{fairusein|NAME OF ARTICLE}} as approppriate. If you refuse to comply after a reasonable period of time I'll make a note of this at the Administrator's notice board. If you have any questions about image copyrights in Mexico please don't hesitate to ask me in my talk page. Regards. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 20:23, 14 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

You were given a week to state a source for each image and change their license tags. Since you didn't do it, I went ahead and labelled them as "Possibly Unfree Images" and will get deleted soon. Please consider providing proper sourcing information for these images before to prevent their removal. DO NOT remove the tag yourself. Regards. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 20:38, 21 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

You used {{GFDL-self}} on Image:Carpenter.jpg. Image copyright problem with Image:Index_motif.gif edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Index_motif.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 20:55, 31 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Néstor Kirchner edit

Hi! I'm a member of WikiProject Argentina. I saw your edits to the article on Néstor Kirchner and wanted to ask you to discuss such large changes in the talk page first. Unfortunately your additions came right after some major vandalism (an anti-Kirchnerist!) and I've had no choice but to revert everything in the article to the last "good" version. We've had these several users applying and re-applying the same extremely biased comments changes to the article for one or two days now. I'll try to restore what you added, but I think it'd be better if we worked on a draft outside the article and then change the whole thing in a single edit. --Pablo D. Image size edit

Hello. This is regarding your recent edit to the article Chile: Do not delete images from articles merely because you feel that their size is wrong. Once again, if you think that the size is wrong, be bold and change the size. Do not delete images to state a point about the proportions of a country. The map is not "so too long", the map is a representation of the country itself. BigAdamsky|TALK|EDITS| 09:58, 13 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Keneally.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Keneally.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. 1/4 Spanish edit

Interesting you say you are 1/4 Spanish. I thought that the Spaniards that went to Argao had done so in the 1840s or so. At least that's what I saw in the church records, what few Spaniards there were in town like that Mallorcan Capt. whose name I forgot that married a Mestiza. But then again, the most recent church records I went through were dated in the 1880s, so I guess it would make sense why I never noticed any Spaniard in Argao in the early to mid 20th century. Mamoahina 06:23, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I read about a mass migration out of Cebu, I thought it was in the 40s or so? I know it was to Mindanao, and I guess it was to Davao del Sur as you mentioned. So your Spanish ancestor went to Davao instead of Argao then? Mamoahina 05:50, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

More on Argao edit

I read about a mass migration out of Cebu, I thought it was in the 40s or so? I know it was to Mindanao, and I guess it was to Davao del Sur as you mentioned. So your Spanish ancestor went to Davao instead of Argao then? You mentioned the Carillo family of Argao, but the only information I have on what seems to be the oldest information I found on any of the Carillos comes from the Argao San Miguel Church records. Bartolome Carillo married Semperesa Fuentes, had a son Sotero who married Celestina Sabado on Jan. 20, 1853.

I didn't concentrate on the Carillos in my research, unless there was a different Carillo family that arrived recently, as in the 20th century. Because the Carillos I listed, the church records identified them as all "indios". There were a few Mestizos mentioned in the church records and in fact, there was a Lucero female mestiza that married that Mallorcan captain I mentioned (whose name I forgot at the moment) and their descendants were listed as Mestizos. In any case, I did do a search in the Catálogo Alfabético de Apellidos on Carillo and did not find that spelling but did find "CARRILLO" which is how many Latinos in the U.S. spell that surname. However, there were others in Argao that spelled it "Carrillo" and I've seen the spelling changes with surnames like Umeres/Umerez and Quintanar/Kintanar, which leads me to believe that Carillo/Carrillo are the same. Plus, the fact that many towns would have the town's people take on surnames with letters usually beginning with the same letter and that Argao had surnames like Camello, Caminade, Campaner, Campomanes/z, Campilla, Camposo, Canada, Canedo, Capadñgan, Carredo, Catalan, Camasura and Calledo (and many more), all if you notice beginning with CA, coupled with the fact that Argao's share of "Spaniards" or other foreigners like a few Chinese were actually mentioned in records, validates that the Carrillo/Carillo family did have their surname selected from the Catálogo Alfabético de Apellidos. Remember, only those who had carried their surnames for at least 3 generations previously (which means the Chinese and the Spaniards) were able to continue their surname among their families.

Now you mentioned 1/4 Spanish, which means one of your grandparents (probably a grandfather?) was from Spain, right? Or were 2 of your grandparents half Spanish each thereby still giving the blood quantum of 1/4 Spanish? Mamoahina 05:50, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

The well known Spaniards or half Spanish people I know from Argao and of whom I found in church records was a woman named Maria Taguenca Cabrera who married D. Celestino Cayetano Gumila. Celestino's father was the Mallorcan captain I mentioned, Cayetano was the surname. Maria however was the daughter of Mauricia Lucero and D. Geronimo Taguenca. Geronimo was half Spanish but took on the name Taguenca Cabrera in 1849 (Surname decree) which gave way to just Cabrera. Have you heard of Todd Lucero-Sales? He resides in Cebu City but is working more on the Lucero family and gave me details of Maria Cabrera's heritage although I found the marriage record of her mentioning the Mallorcan captain. So again, who exactly was the Spaniard in your family? I'll have to assume it was either your maternal grandfather or any of your grandmothers, but we know for a fact las Españolas were few in the Philippines, especially in the Visayas in the 20th century. By the way, you and I are close in age so I assume our grandparents were born within the same time, so we're talking very late 19th century to early 20th century. Query regarding removing a couple Felipe Calderón photos edit

Zscout370 has raised the issue at Talk:Felipe Calderón of removing the cropped photos due to the curved corners and having 4 fair use photos in a relatively small article. They are kind of jammed up at the top too, though they are appropriate for their sections. Now that he's president-elect, the article's likely to get bigger, though not necessarily his previous political career and early years sections.

I'm ambivalent so far. I can see what Zscout is saying, but I wouldn't mind if they stayed in. TransUtopian 03:20, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Image:The family of Felipe Calderon.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:The family of Felipe Calderon.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

Unspecified source for Image:Francisco labastida ochoa 200x220.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Francisco labastida ochoa 200x220.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below).

Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -SCEhardT 03:33, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
