Oxera edit

There's nothing dictatorial about my actions. Your article did not suit Wikipedia notability guidelines (WP:CORP), and it was deletable under WP:CSD#G11 because the article was written like an advertisement for Oxera. Nishkid64 (talk) 20:07, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Administrators are supposed to delete articles that go against policy. I looked at your article, and it still read like an advertisement for the company. Please see WP:NPOV and WP:CORP. I didn't delete it just because of WP:CSD#G11 but also because of the non-notability of the company (WP:CORP). Any article that doesn't meet notability guidelines is subject to deletion. I'll undelete the article for now, and you can make the necessary corrections to make it comply with Wikipedia policy. Also, Wikipedia does not allow WP:OR, so you must source information in the article. Nishkid64 (talk) 20:26, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Also, I would appreciate it if you could stop calling my actions "dictatorial". I am just following procedure, and doing my duties as an administrator. Nishkid64 (talk) 20:27, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dont get your message edit

I just received a message from you saying that I had delited templates and that I would be blocked. Sorry but dont understand your dictatorial manners. I erased the stub logo because the article was no longer a stub. Good luck.--Jorditxei 18:03, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The warning was for removing the speedy deletion tag on an article you were involved with Oxera. The policy for when you disagree with a speedy deletion is to place a {hangon} on the article and explain why you disagree with the speedy deletion. Moreover, an administrator will make the final decision. You just cannot remove the tag. Hope this helps. Shoessss 10:39, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

--Filipo2 13:39, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello edit

Hello Jordtixei. Happy to see you too. We are supposed to write in English here so everybody can see what are we saying. You must learn from your experience in Wikipedia in Spanish. Here things are less personal and more formal so you must follow procedures to the letter. Because in English is easier to find good sources, dicussion here is more based on sources. Also I think the age of people is older so thought is more structured. However this is also a very demmanding environement and netiquette is enforced thoroughly. Be cautious and do not engage continuously or you will run in problems. 11-M article seems to be calm nowadays once the Randroide was neutralized by Jim62 but storm can unleash at any moment. Enjoy and take care. --Igor21 12:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)PS : IMHO your bloking was excesive but it happened in a background of turmoil were nobody was in the mood to sustain discussions about the many issues you arised. IMHO you were blocked because there was no energy to deal with your energy. You would have been a valuable resource and perhaps you can come back at some point. I hope so.Reply

not neutral edit

Hello,
I think this [1] is not neutral and not really correct.
I think it would be better to add a quote from a valuable reference stating that the right of return is justified by the fact that palestinians were chased and given they were not *all* chased and that the issue is controversed, it should be written that way :

MrSomeone thinks that (...) <quote> right of return (...) because (...) chased </quote>

I don't know if you have such reference ?
What you added about Lehi/Haganah/Irgoun is not at all accurate. This only concerns 2 waves of refugees and the author in the reference you use is not reliable if he writes that this concerns the whole palestinian exodus...
What do you think about that ? Alithien 17:27, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi
ok.
First and second waves are only 50%. (100k + 250/300k).
Alithien 17:41, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
lol lol lol
World is very little ! You live at Brussels :-)
At the occasion we could meet to discuss.
I just refer to Birth revisited
Ch. The second wave - conclusion - p.262 : (...) "resulting in 250,000-300,000 refugees".
Ch. The fist wave - p.67 : "by the end of march 1948, somme 100,000 Arabs (...)".
350k-400k out of ~750k -> I rounded this to 50% but this is not a real important matter ;-)
Alithien 17:59, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
NB: As you see I have Birth revisited at home BUT if I could give an advice : don't buy this book !
Righteous victims is a very intersting and well written book but the Birth revisited is un-readable. This is just a compendium of events :-( Alithien 18:01, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
In fact, I live at Liege, this is 100 km east of Brussels. Alithien 18:02, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I answered but do not agree you remove this flag. As written, I am looking for a solution to neutralize this section, which is not neutral. sorry :-(. Alithien 18:31, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

why Plan Dalet(h) cannot be a milestone the table of "depopulated villages" edit

Hi Jorditxei,

Plan D edit

J'ai ajouté "abandonned, depopulated or destroyed". Mais si on lit Morris, on devrait dire :

  • wave 1 and wave 2 : abandonned villages
  • wave 3 and wave 4 : abandonned, evacuated and/or destroyed villages

Cheers, Alithien 07:21, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

My French is not very good, but I read that as denying that Plan Dalet concerned ethnic cleansing, saying it didn't begin until the end of 1948. And I think it's most disputed, certainly by Morris eg Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem Revisited 2004, p.165 "Each brigade was instructed: In the conquest of villages in your area, you will determine - whether to cleanse or destroy them - in consultation with your Arab affairs advisers and HIS officers ... You are permitted to restrict - insofar as you are able - cleansing, conquest and destruction operations of enemy villages in your area.
The plan was neither understood nor used by the senior field officers as a blanket instruction for the expulsion of `the Arabs'. But, in providing for the expulsion or destruction of villages that had resisted or might threaten the Yishuv, it constituted a strategic-doctrinal basis and carte blanche for expulsions. --86.2.126.96 18:59, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Economics census edit

Hello there. Sorry to bother you, but you are (titularly at least) a member of WP:WikiProject Economics, as defined by this category. If you don't know me, I'm a Wikipedia administrator, but an unqualified economist. I enjoy writing about economics, but I'm not very good at it, which is why I would like to support in any way I can the strong body of economists here on Wikipedia. I'm only bothering you because you are probably one of them. Together, I'd like us to establish the future direction of WikiProject Economics, but first, we need to know who we've got to help.

Whatever your area of expertise or level of qualification, if you're interested in helping with the WikiProject (even if only as part of a larger commitment to this wonderful online encyclopedia of ours), would you mind adding your signature to this page? It only takes a second. Thank you.

Catalan Culture Challenge edit

I've seen on your userpage that you speak Catalan: From March 16 to April 15 we will be organising the Catalan Culture Challenge, a Wikipedia editing contest in which victory will go to those who start and improve the greatest number of articles about 50 key figures of Catalan culture. You can take part by creating or expanding articles on these people in your native language (or any other one you speak). We look forward to seeing you! ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:55, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict...please fill out my survey? edit

Hello :) I am writing my MA dissertation on Wikipedia Wars and the Israel-Palestine conflict, and I noticed that you have contributed to those pages. My dissertation will look at the process of collaborative knowledge production on the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the effect it has on bias in the articles. This will involve understanding the profiles and motivations of editors, contention/controversy and dispute resolution in the talk pages, and bias in the final article.

For more information, you can check out my meta-wiki research page or my user page, where I will be posting my findings when I am done.

I would greatly appreciate if you could take 5 minutes to fill out this quick survey before 8 August 2021.

Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary and anonymous. There are no foreseeable risks nor benefits to you associated with this project.

Thanks so much,

Sarah Sanbar
