January 2020 edit

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Mental Health Act 2007. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. A-NEUN ⦾TALK⦾ 19:58, 21 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button   located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 20:47, 21 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Mental Health Act 2007. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions.

Again, please do not add "how-to" instructions to Wikipedia articles. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 20:55, 21 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your user page, User:Jonny Abet edit

Your user page, User:Jonny Abet, should be used to introduce you to other editors as a Wikipedia editor. Some brief biographical information, it is not a good place to start an article about yourself. In this edit] your summary says Still trying to make this eligable as an article please advise specifically what I may be missing

  • The first thing you are missing as that, as stated in our guideline on autobiography it is strongly discouraged for you to write any article about yourself, anywhere.
  • The next thing is that your user page is not the place to start any article.
  • The third thing is that Wikipedia has articles only about notable topics. If you are notable, your user page is a long way from showing that.
  • The fourth thing is that articles should have a logical structure and convey meaningful information to the reader. Your user page does not seem to me, currently, to do that.

I advise you to abandon the idea of your user page as an article, (or any article about yourself) and simply construct an ordinary user page in accord with WP:UP. You may look at my user page for an example, or look at the user pages of other experienced editors.

Note that a user page is optional. Some very experienced users do not have one. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 22:11, 21 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia is not social media edit

You seem to be seeking a place where people listen to you. Wikipedia is not that place, because it is not social media. Please use social media for more appropriate venues that don't waste your time and the time of other people.--Quisqualis (talk) 01:56, 22 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

@--Quisqualis

I am sorry for wasting yours and other time, if you do this on social media you get blocked, plus a lot more inquisitively strange things happen.

I do not wish to get into an argument at all, so, I will leave you guys to it.

You may, in foresight, wish to write a topic on this, but that's your prerogative

Farewell
