MOS:IMAGES

edit

Hello?

Could you please respond indicating that you've noticed the comments here? I've yet to find an image you've added that clearly meets MOS:IMAGES. Please take a look at our conflict of interest policy as well.

Wikipedia could gain a great deal with contributions from a talented photographer such as yourself. However, images need to be added so that they are indeed of value to the respective articles. --Ronz (talk) 03:46, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes hello, yes I have seen your mail, am I doing wrong, I just uploaded my old press photos and some others, what is the MOS: IMAGES, Regads "Jonnmann (talk) 05:36, 23 December 2012 (UTC)"Reply
Thanks for responding. I'm guessing there may be a language barrier here. Do you want to discuss MOS:IMAGES? --Ronz (talk) 17:38, 23 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

If I understand you correctly, my categorization of the images are not the best, and you are right, I have a little trouble with spelling in English, but with the help of google translator it works quite ok I think,"Jonnmann (talk) 02:44, 24 December 2012 (UTC)"Reply

I've reviewed your additions of images to articles, and have yet to find any additions that clearly meet MOS:IMAGES. Generally, you're adding images that are highly redundant to images already in the articles. I've been giving more specific concerns in my edit-summaries now that you've responded. --Ronz (talk) 17:53, 24 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
The image you added to Pigeon racing is worth keeping in my opinion. The article doesn't have any such images, and I think it is relevant enough to have them. The image displays rather blurry in the article. I'm not sure how to fine-tune it. I'd have thought that the 320 × 118 pixel version would alleviate the problems, but perhaps it's a bit too large to be totally effective? --Ronz (talk) 18:02, 24 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Gustav Johansson

edit

Hello Jonnmann,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Gustav Johansson for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hi Jonnmann! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Gustav Johansson that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Dover Sun House

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dover Sun House requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.sciencehistory.org/distillations/the-sun-queen-and-the-skeptic-building-the-worlds-first-solar-houses. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Failed verifications

edit

I've noted a few failed verifications on your edits to Dover Sun House. The articles you've cited do discuss the house, but they do not verify the facts that you are citing, such as the reason for the solar system's ultimate failure or the demolition date of the house. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:15, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

For obvious reasons I don't have more info than what I can find in a number of different articles that form the basis of my version, nor does the German article have more info. As for the exact reason why the system was removed, apart from what I wrote, it can probably only be found in the MIT archives, which I do not have access to. The house was a type of experiment as I understood it, built of wood and glass, and after 62 years it was perhaps time to tear it down. Jonnmann (talk) 18:27, 13 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
Understood. But if you add a citation, that citation is expected to actually verify the article content. If you cannot find a citation to verify a statement, then perhaps the statement should be removed. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 13:48, 14 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Bedmet

edit

The article Bedmet has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NCORP, WP:SIRS. No indication of being notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. scope_creepTalk 13:01, 15 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
