Recent articles edit

Hello, I've been kind of piggy-backing the articles that you've been editing in the last hour or so removing the deletion tags. I can see that they are all GFDL-licensed information. What I can't see is if these articles have notable subject matter. You really need to make this clear in the articles (why they are notable) or they may face deletion on this point. If the topics really are not notable, you may want to start contributing on topics that are. I also hope that you begin to wikify the articles as well.--Esprit15d • talkcontribs 14:43, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article creation edit

Whilst it appears that the copyright angle is OK, these articles are still problematic;

  1. The text is just copied in, with no thought of wikifying, or sections. In fact the Whole WP:MOS is thrown out of the window.
  2. No references are given
  3. The subjects don't seem to be notable.

Please slow down on creating the articles. One good article that isn't being argued about for deletion per week is better than 10 per day that are poor and cause arguments. Mayalld (talk) 14:49, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Glendora Review edit

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. triwbe (talk) 14:50, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Deletion debate on Y-Mag edit

Hello. In reference to article for deletion (AfD) debates, you can express your opinion by joining the conversation at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Y-Mag. A deletion debate typically lasts 5 days. You may wish to read how to participate in AfDs here and here. Comments that are correctly formatted and show an understanding of policy are more likely to carry influence with other Wikipedians. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to let me know at my talk page or to address them at Wikipedia's help desk, typically manned around the clock by volunteers. Thank you. Joe (magazine) edit

Hi. The {{hangon}} tag is only valid when a speedy deletion tag has been added to the article. As such, no one has added this, so the hangon tag is not appropriate. In fact, deletion is not even on the table. The article simply as issues tags on it, to deal with its insufficiencies in meeting Wikipedia guidelines for notability. Cheers and happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 18:33, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Mfumu’eto Magazine.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Mfumu’eto Magazine.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:58, 13 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 18:58, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. triwbe (talk) 19:07, 13 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Joe (magazine) edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Joe (magazine), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy).

-- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 14:33, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Mfumu’eto edit

A tag has been placed on Mfumu’eto requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 14:33, 14 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image source problem with Image:Staffrider Magazine.jpg edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Staffrider Magazine.jpg.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:34, 22 August 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ian¹³/t 15:34, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Glendora Review edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Glendora Review, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy).

Hi, please stop adding your magazine to this page - it is now linked from the disambiguation page at the top.

Whilst we are speaking, where did you get the cover image from? I am happy to fix the license to stop it being deleted, but I need the URL of the source. Smile a While (talk) 20:55, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

About PRODs edit

Hi, Jones Argus, just to inform you, when a page is marked PROD then it is basically asking if anyone disagrees with its deletion. if ANYONE (including the creator = you) does not want the page deleted then one may simply remove the {{PROD}} template and make a comment in the edit summary as to why the PROD was removed. {{Hangon}} is only for when an article is nominated for speedy deletion.

The next stage would then be WP:AFD which then places the article in front of the community to decide by consensus. --triwbe (talk) 13:43, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your contributed article, Revue Noire edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Revue Noire. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Revue Noire (magazine). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Revue Noire (magazine). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Egeymi (talk) 18:44, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
