How do I put this picture in the article?

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jonathan_Green_Journalist.jpg

This entire system is baffling. Information about me in the public domain on Wikipedia is wrong or incomplete. How do I change it?

Mr Green, sorry to hear you're having some troubles. As you saw, you can edit your page to correct misinformation. We want to make sure articles on people are accurate and well-supported by reliable sources. Adding the awards you have won and using your own page as a source is ok, though we would prefer that those were sourced to the actual pages of the body giving you the award (if available). If you don't know how to reference material here, you can put the information that you want to be changed on the talk page Talk:Jonathan Green (journalist) with a link to the site and we'll incorporate it in.
I hope you understand that the part I objected to was you adding all the on-location activities that you did ("He has skydived from 30,000ft with Special Forces Soldiers in a HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) parachute jump, scuba dived under ice, ridden a bull in a rodeo school, speared fish with soldiers at 90ft under the ocean off Guantanamo Bay, raced in a Dodge Viper at 215mph before having a blow out in the Nevada desert, paraglided with eagles in the high Himalaya in Nepal, flown in aerial dogfights pulling 7 g’s, ridden a jet ski the entire length of the Mississippi, been to 2000ft under the ocean in a homemade submarine and snowkited Alaska’s mythical Bagley Icefield in -30 temperatures. "). I removed all your edits because it was easier than trying to figure out exactly which edit included that information.
If you need more help or clarification, feel free to reply here. If you don't wish to talk to me anymore, you can write your question here and cut and paste "{{helpme}}" to have another volunteer answer it. Regards, Syrthiss (talk) 18:41, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

OK, now I understand thank you. Could you leave a list of the awards on?

And also, the book has not been optioned by Vigorous pictures but by someone else. It has also been endorsed by the Dalai Lama and Richard Gere. I would like that to stay.

Also, as regards to on location activities here are all articles that I am referring to.

I understand your point about conflict of interest. And that's important. However, I can offer sources to everything I have said through published work on my website.

Can I get these edits on again?

Take a look and see if I got things right. I formatted your awards and fixed a misplaced tag that was hiding the bit about the Dalai Lama. I'm also out of time for today, but will take a look here tomorrow to see if you have responded. Cheers. Syrthiss (talk) 19:07, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

December 2012 edit

Hello, JonathanGreen42. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. In particular, the laundry list of your on-location activities is more suited for your own webspace than a neutral encyclopedia article on a subject. Syrthiss (talk) 14:18, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, Mr Green. I prefer any discussions to be held here. You can edit this page to reply, or edit my talk page like you did when you asked me to mail you. Regards, Syrthiss (talk) 18:17, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply
