Am giving this account its own COI notice

Information icon Hello, JonHansen3. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.

Please reply here and disclose any connection you have with Carvana. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 18:33, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

— Hey Jytdog - I am currently employed by Carvana, and was not aware of the COI rules barring me from editing / recommending edits to the Carvana wikipedia page due to my affiliation with the company, my apologies. I am reading through that page currently. I do not have any negative or promotional intentions with my requests to the wikipedia page -- I just want to clarify a few incorrect things on the page. I am going to put up a new edit request on the talk page for 'Carvana Wiki" with those proposed requests and sources for the requests. Thank you. JonHansen3 (talk) 21:39, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Yay! Thanks for replying. I'll look out for your suggestions at Talk:Carvana.
If you want to maintain a presence in Wikipedia, would you please add the disclosure to your Userpage, User:JonHansen3 - a redlink, because you haven't written anything there yet). Just something simple like: "I work for Carvana and have a conflict of interest with regard to Carvana" would be fine. If you want to add anything else there that is relevant to what you want to do in WP feel free to add it, but please don't add anything promotional about the company (see WP:USERPAGE for guidance if you like).
I added a tag to the Carvana article's talk page, so the disclosure is done there. Once you disclose on your user page, the disclosure piece of this will be done.
If you want an as-brief-as-I-can-make-it overview on how Wikipedia works, let me know and i can post it here. Thanks again for replying! Jytdog (talk) 22:17, 29 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for posting the disclosure. If you happen to know who operated the ChrisCourtney account, would you please ask them to reply on their Talk page? I would like to resolve the SOCK issue as well as the COI issue with regard to that account. Thanks again. Jytdog (talk) 16:29, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
The ChrisCourtney account has now posted a disclosure of their connection with Carvana here. The only matter outstanding now is SOCK/MEAT. Would you please explain if you are the same person, or a different person, from the person operating the ChrisCourtney account?
If you are a different person, please acknowledge that you will not violate WP:MEAT in the future. Jytdog (talk) 19:21, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Hey Jytdog -- ChrisCourtney is a separate person within the Carvana organization. I will not violate WP:MEAT in the future.

Perfect. I have to go do other stuff now - will look at your suggestions by the end of the weekend. Others might reply sooner! Thanks so much for working with me on this foundational stuff. :) Jytdog (talk) 19:33, 30 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
