  Hello, Jollidee. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 22:39, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

And please read our guidelines re: WP:V. Thank you, 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 22:39, 15 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

  Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Wikipedia. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. 2601:188:180:1481:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 22:30, 17 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Help me!

edit

I am not a regular user of Wikipedia. I recently tried to update my husband, Michael J McEvoy's Wikipedia entry but I have seen information that this is a COI. Please excuse me.

Please help me with...

I would be very grateful for help in reviewing the page and removing the warning templates at the top of the page. I am happy to send links to reputable sources to verify anything that is needed and will refrain from adding updates in future without full disclosure.

Thank you so much in advance. Jollidee (talk) 19:12, 20 February 2019 (UTC)Jollidee Jollidee (talk) 19:12, 20 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hey Jollidee, welcome to Wikipedia, and no worries! Thank you for the disclosure. About the maintenance notices, that problem will solve itself sooner or later. The purpose of these notices is to invite other editors to solve the potential problems pointed out in the notices. There are just two things to do now, for you personally, I would say: reading Wikipedia:FAQ/Article subjects, and after reading it, unless there is an error that needs to be corrected, patiently waiting. This may seem to be counter-intuitive, but there is no deadline; it may take a few hours, days, months or even years. This is caused by the volunteer nature of this project. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask me (or use {{help me}}) at any time. Have a nice day!   ~ ToBeFree (talk) 21:56, 20 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

A belated welcome!
