November 2019 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Decauville, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please discuss page moves like this before actioning them Andy Dingley (talk) 18:12, 21 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Anatolian side moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Anatolian side, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Disambiguation link notification for December 24 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kemalism, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Literalism (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Cut and paste moves edit

Hi, since we need to preserve the attribution history of each article for copyright reasons, we can't move pages by copying-and-pasting. Instead you can either click on the Move button for completely uncontroversial moves, but for moves where someone could reasonably oppose you need to start a requested moves discussion. The article Simit for example would need a requested moves discussion before it can be moved. – Thjarkur (talk) 12:58, 25 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Johnny, I don't think your edits were vandalism (note that the above message is just a templated warning), but it seems that the edit is not uncontroversial. Kemalism edit

Hey. Just to let you know that you need to stop adding your own weird words in place of the commonly-accepted terms "revolutionism"/"reformism" under Kemalism. This is not constructive and at this point borders on vandalism. You simply have to include citations, and have to stick to the consensus translations. You can't make up your own new words. I choose to believe these edits were made in good faith, but consider this a warning. Μαρκος Δ 21:11, 30 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Foreign languages edit

Hi, we don't include foreign language translations of terms unless the subject is very connected to the language. So it doesn't appear to be necessary to include Turkish in Subversionism. Don't forget to add citations to the article. – Thjarkur (talk) 21:53, 8 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

January 2020 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Doogh a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. GorillaWarfare (talk) 18:52, 12 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

I see you were warned above in #Cut and paste moves to get consensus before moving pages, and to not perform cut-and-paste moves. The same advice applies to this situation with Doogh/Buttermilk/Churned buttermilk -- please achieve consensus first, and then once that has been reached you can either move the pages yourself or request help in moving them in a way that preserves the page history. Thanks, GorillaWarfare (talk) 18:53, 12 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi, we try to follow WP:COMMONNAME. When a page move is possibly controversial, it's best to discuss it by starting a WP:RM discussion. I've reverted your move of Alashiya since that's the more common name. – Thjarkur (talk) 17:42, 22 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

I see I've mentioned this before. In any case, remember to get a consensus before moving. Another thing, some of your articles have been dictionary definitions, which usually don't fit very well into an encyclopedia, for those it's best to add it to Wikipedia's sister project Wiktionary. Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Ancient history of Belarus edit

A tag has been placed on Category:Ancient history of Belarus indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Your contributed article, Sagacity edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Sagacity. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Sage (philosophy). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Sage (philosophy). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. MrOllie (talk) 11:53, 5 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

your proposed merge of Yogurt and Clabber (food) edit

Please read and follow WP:MERGEPROP if you are going to propose mergers:

  1. Both proposal templates have to the same merger target. You proposed merging Clabber (food) to Yogurt but actually proposed merging Yoghurt to Clabber.
  2. Please be more careful. You pointed to Clabber, which is a completely different article (about a card game) than Clabber (food).
  3. You have to point both proposed merge templates to the same merger discussion. You pointed one to Talk:Clabber#Proposed merge with Yogurt and the other to Talk:Yogurt#Proposed merge with Clabber. Both of them should be pointing to Talk:Clabber (food)#Proposed merge with Yogurt (if you want the merge to be to Clabber (food)) or to (Talk:Yogurt#Proposed merge with Clabber (food) if you want the merger to be to Yogurt)
  4. You need to actually create the discussion thread and give your reasons why you think these should be merged.
  5. It's impossible to tell which way you wanted the merger to go, so I have simple removed the proposal, pending your correct use of the templates. Meters (talk) 06:40, 13 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Meatsgains, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged Pan-Altaism for deletion, because it doesn't appear to contain any encyclopedic content. You may find our guide for writing quality articles to be extremely informative. Also, you may want to consider working on future articles in draft space first, where they cannot be deleted for lacking content.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Meatsgains}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
