Conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Magnolia677. Thank you for your help and your interest in 100% credibility in this and all articles. As a longtime observer of the subject's career and the subject's artistic achievements, I was sincerely attempting in 100% of the content, to provide content from verifiable sources independent of the subject. Virtually 95% of all the content is taken directly (not a single variation from the published books) from passages of 2 books sourced in the references and written by historians John Mark Dempsey and Jean Boyd. I'm not sure how to cut-and-paste from the actual 2 books, but if this will help Wikipedia Committee to not flag in this instance, I'll attempt to learn. If I previously (before removal) made a reference to any site (such as a purchase site/etc.) that is not neutral, my apologies. I had thought I was providing a footnoted reference to a site that had pertinent information. I will make sure in the future not to include any non-neutral or purchase sites, thank you for pointing this out. Johncarp (talk) 08:40, 1 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, Johncarp. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. You appear to have a close connection with the pay side http://www.theconnextion.com/artgreenhaw Magnolia677 (talk) 15:21, 31 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
