Hi, welcome to the Talk Page.

Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:38, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fabrication of sources

I find Taztouzi's apparent fabrication of sources scary, too. Well, it's been an education. Susfele (talk) 02:08, 21 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can we collapse Template:Close relationships so the images fit in sections? CTJF83 chat 19:44, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Looks pretty good...but is is possible to put the straight couple lower, so it isn't double indented with both pics? CTJF83 chat 20:00, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Either that or the test save I just did, the pictures don't overlap, but the 2nd one does overlap the next section...either one is really fine with me. CTJF83 chat 20:09, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
That one is fine too, you can revert my last test edit if you want. CTJF83 chat 20:12, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reviewer permission

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:25, 25 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Americas

edit

I noticed the weasel tag you put up on the Americas page. Would you be so inclined to start a discussion on the article's talk page in hopes that some resolution may take place? You may be interested in reading the very similar discussions from the archived talk pages (here, here, etc.) including a mediation. It would be nice to have the cleanup tag removed, but I'm not going to take it upon myself to do so until the issue is resolved (as best as it can be, anyways). Cheers, > MinnecologiesTalk 18:48, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I did think the same at first. I will try to think of a different name for it. Unless you have already? Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on here in a while! MissAmericaGirl (talk) 23:05, 27 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Question About My Contribution

edit

Hello, I see that you edited my contribution to the Herbal Essences stub. I was wondering if you could tell me what I did wrong so I could correct it. I had to do this for an assignment for school and would appreciate your feedback. Thank you, Folkcl08 16:33, 29 November 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Folkcl08 (talkcontribs)

Miss International 2010

edit

You claim Uganda and Sudan did not attend Miss international 2010 due to Lack of funding and sponsorship, please cite your sources, who funded / sponsored them last year? And what happened to Gabon, Tanzania and Ethiopia? The reality is they all boycotted Miss International which is institutionally and historically racist even if you don’t want the truth to be known. 113.162.125.111 (talk) 03:19, 3 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Re 'Criollo people'

edit

Hi. I see you've removed the images in question. I've commented on the talk page about this, clarifying the situation (as much as I can - actually policy is a bit unclear in places). I'll add the article to my watchlist, but frankly, given the lack of proper references, it needs more work - or perhaps an AfD? AndyTheGrump (talk) 16:35, 19 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ending the Michael Jackson edit War

I am a die-hard fan of Beyonce. I came to Wikipedia for her (almost exclusively). No, it should be kept as Beyonce Knowles itself. Jivesh Talk2Me 15:04, 24 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Gosh, that was a big edit with a short summary! I'm not checking it - I think that you know your stuff. Good clean up job, which must have taken quite some time behind the scenes with sourcing etc. Off to bed shortly, and doubtless 20% of the heights will have been vandalised by the time I get going again. Plus cą change, plus cą même chose. :-( Sitush (talk) 01:15, 30 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have requested semi-protection of the article. No idea if the admin will agree but something needs to be done here as the situation is silly. - Sitush (talk) 01:13, 3 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
