June 2014 edit

Hello, I'm Smalljim. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Campigneulles-les-Grandes seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Also there's no apparent connection with the subject of the article.  —SMALLJIM  12:14, 28 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or do things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia, as you did at User:John D. Garba. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. We're sorry if this message has discouraged you from editing this website, but the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia (please see WP:NOT for further details). I have deleted your user page for this reason.  —SMALLJIM  19:22, 28 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your user name edit

In view of your statement on my talk page that the name of this account is not your name, I must ask you to stop using this account because it is misleading and will lead people to believe that you are John D. Garba. This request is in accordance with our username policy. You may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing.  —SMALLJIM  22:01, 30 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please make sure that you understand the other two points I raised in my earlier reply: they are still relevant. For ease of reference I've copied them here:
2. Also relevant is our policy on What Wikipedia is not, particularly the sections WP:NOTPROMOTION and WP:NOTWEBHOST.
3. You will also find Wikipedia:User pages, our guideline on what is and what isn't allowable in user pages, worth reading.

If you still intend to write an article on Garba, I'd suggest that you use the Article wizard which will help make sure you don't make mistakes that will cause your work to be deleted.  —SMALLJIM  22:14, 30 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits edit

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button (  or  ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 10:32, 1 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
