WikiCup 2014: The results
The 2014 WikiCup champion is 
Godot13 (submissions), who flew the flag of the Smithsonian Institution. This was Godot13's first WikiCup competition and, over the 10 months of the competition, he has produced (among other contributions) two featured lists and an incredible 292 featured pictures, including architectural photographs and scans of historical documents. 
Cwmhiraeth (submissions), 2012 and 2013 WikiCup champion, came in second, having written a large number of biology-related articles. 
Casliber (submissions), WikiCup finalist every year since 2010, finished in third.

ChrisGualtieri (submissions) wins the GA prize for 27 good articles in round 2 and the review prize for 28 good article reviews in round 1.
Caponer (submissions) wins the FL prize for three featured lists in round 2.
Sven Manguard (submissions) wins the FPo prize his work on featured portals.
Figureskatingfan (submissions) wins the topic prize for a nine-article featured topic in round 3.
ThaddeusB (submissions) wins the news prize for 28 in the news articles in round 3.
Congratulations to everyone who has been successful in this year's WikiCup, whether you made it to the final rounds or not, and a particular congratulations to the newcomers to the WikiCup who have participated this year. We warmly invite all of you to sign up for next year's competition. Discussions and polls concerning potential rules changes are also open, and all are welcome to participate. because:
'the templates really look odd in the main article, certainly until there actually are decisions'

It was Orson Scott Card's hero Lieberman who is quoted in the thread as basically identifying himself as a John F. Kennedy Democrat. Hi John, would you consider removing this comment that you added to Reguyla's talk page? Considering the context of someone having their talk page removed for using it to call other people abusive negatives, etc, it's unattractively ironic for someone else to immediately come along and post content of the same style to his talk page, especially when he now can't respond. Yes, Reguyla was giving as good as he got, but that's not a reason to keep "giving". Leaving provocative commentary there now does nothing except inflame a situation that should be becoming less drama-ridden. A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 20:59, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

For your thoughtful participation in the village pump thread. Obviously I was just testing the waters following the other RfA discussion, but I was surprised at how unimaginative and paranoid my fellow wikipedians are. Although probably I should have phrased it in a less set in stone way, obviously the one year and 3000 edits was just an example that could be negotiated, just as the possibility of separating certain tools out, and creating a better desysop process etc. But clearly noone actually believes in the basic principles of wikipedia here - namely that many think better than one and that people can organize themselves without hierarchy. - @Maunus: I think the idea might well get some more support if some of the concerns were more clearly addressed. Some sort of similar proposal, possibly with maybe a bit greater qualifiers (1-1/2 years of productive editing of some sort without "significant" block time, maybe) might work. I like the idea of some sort of "default" adminship confirmation after some period provided certain conditions are met and there are no particular reasons presented in a review setting to deny it being given, and I think that sort of proposal, maybe in an article to the Signpost or as a proposal, might get some more positive response. I think there is a reasonable chance that maybe some sort of arb com reform and/or admin reform might be strongly considered after the current election, particularly in the unlikely event a non-admin gets elected to ArbCom, and maybe then the idea might get some more reasonable response. In answer to your question
Well, everything else has been duly buried, but the question is still valid. No, there does not appear to be a technical solution within our current blocking software by which a user can be repeatedly blocked on successive days for the same time period day after day. I suspect, however, that an adminbot could be programmed to do so, given the correct authorization and direction, and it would need to be carefully monitored by real administrators in case it went offline, failed to log in, or had some other type of malfunction.
