Percy Allan

If this bloke is notable and you really want to write an article about him use this:

Once you have found them use the sense of what they say and write the article around that information in your own words, using them as references. See WP:REFB. For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, and is in WP:RS. Do not consider copying text from the sources. It is always discovered, usually by automated tools.

If Allan is your client I would avoid this task because he will not be satisfied. Men who want articles about themselves never are. An article on WIkipedia about one's self is a vanity and requesting one is a conceit that shows that they wish to present their best side.

What they do not understand is that, once an article is here, they will be presented, warts an' all, to anyone who does a search in their name. And that the warts will be added to the article.

He may get an article one day anyway, written by someone else. It will still have the warts in it. If they appear verified by WP:RS then they will be in it.

By the way, the source you used in the draft was never going to be acceptable anyway. Flannel panels for speakers are pretty much alwasy produced by the speaker himself and are primary sources. You would have been made to remove this one anyway. It added no value, and nor did the text it contains. It is puffery. Fiddle Faddle 06:36, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Percy Allan (economist)

edit

Hello, John.A.McKee. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Percy Allan".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Percy Allan (economist)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:16, 1 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
