Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we must insist that you assume good faith while interacting with other editors, which you did not on Talk:2010s. Canvassing

edit

Hi, just to let you know that edits like this could be viewed as borderline canvassing; if you could avoid such things in future, or balance them, as per that policy, that would be good. Thanks in advance. ╟─TreasuryTagdraftsman─╢ 20:00, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi again! You are being ridiculous. Thank you! --Jmk (talk) 20:13, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
You may also need to read WP:CIV. Thanks in advance. ╟─TreasuryTagCaptain-Regent─╢ 20:15, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
You may also need to read it. Thanks! And have a nice day! --Jmk (talk) 20:18, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
I will be delighted to re-read it, just as soon as you link to an incivil comment that I have made. ╟─TreasuryTagconstabulary─╢ 20:39, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
"Moaning", for example, is not a particularly civil way to call other people's attempts to discuss issues. In fact, your tone in the whole "2010s" discussion has been unnecessarily aggressive, and not a particularly shining example of civility. Of course, you can choose not to see anything incivil in anything you write. That cannot be helped from outside, I'm afraid. Thank you for views, they have been noted. --Jmk (talk) 20:55, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Given that you seem to think, "Hi again! You are being ridiculous. Thank you!" is a comment appropriate to Wikipedia, I am disinclined to treat your comments about my attitude with the gravity I might had they come from someone else! ╟─TreasuryTagCANUKUS─╢ 21:10, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, your insinuation that informing one user, in a neutral way, of a discussion that they probably are interested in, might be "borderline canvassing" is, well, quite funny. Perhaps you should spend more time discussing the actual issues and less time trying to invent accusations to put on people's talk pages. --Jmk (talk) 21:17, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hippocamelus photograph

edit

I understand that the place where the photograph was taken is in Peru (in the Pampa Galeras National Reserve), or Putre in northern Chile, near the border with Peru, both in full Hippocamelus antisensis distribution, and thousands of miles north of the closest Hippocamelus bisulcus. The arid habitats can be observed, the grayish color of the coat, the slimmer shape of your body, the antlers split from the crown, etc. Hug.CHUCAO (talk) 22:16, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see. Indeed, the person who took the photo says it was "taken near Putre in Chile" (I did not notice this). Looking at where Putre is makes the bisulcus claim rather surprising! Perhaps you could mention these observations on the talk page of the file (File talk:Huemul.jpg, or even better the Commons talk page commons:File talk:Huemul.jpg)? --Jmk (talk) 23:55, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
